Few Crows this morning with Steve B Wales

Just arrived home after a 90 mile journey. I left home at 3am to meet up with Terry, and shoot over the field where we were on Monday. Terry had already set his decoys out, and I went down the other end of the field to set up mine. As I was putting the decoys out etc, I could hear Terry shooting, and could see a couple of birds plummeting to earth! No sooner had I sat down, some Crows came over head and they were shot. I started off well, with 14 shots for 14 birds, but them missed a few, and also had to give one or two a second barrel to dispatch them. I continued for some time, and, when it went quiet, I moved my hide etc down to where Terry had set up his. The birds came over in ones and two's, and we both had some good shots. Eventually, around 12.45, it went so quiet, we decided to give it another 1/2 hour and pack up, which we did, but not before taking a few Wood Pigeons and a few more Crow's. It took us ages to collect all the dead birds and clear all our stuff away. After taking the official photo's, we went our seperate ways, and I headed for home.

In total, we had 121 birds, but only picked up 103. These were 73 Crow's, 5 Wood Pigeons and 25 Jackdaw's. I shot 54 of them, and Terry shot the other 67. A lot of the birds that were shot, either ended up in the field of Barley next to where we were shooting,in the other fields, or, as with a few of mine, landed in the tops of trees and I could'nt get them down.

I enjoyed myself very much, and my thanks go to Terry who invited me up again.

It was a good mornings shoot, Steve enjoyed it, he had some good shots. Always a worry when you invite someone for a bit of bashing, that things will go to plan as you know crows some days won't play ball or just don't fancy being shot.:lol::lol: atb Terry
