Archie-fox
Afternoon chaps.. I'm going to buy some binoculars as I've just got a lot of stalking land...don't want to break the bank..maybe £200 ish. What would you recommend and what sort of zoom would suite my needs, it's all open fields with woods. Rich.

oscarsdad
Sent you a message bud, have a look at the Hawke Frontier ED 8x43. They are great and you will see nothing but positive reviews comparing them to much more expensive models.
Traztaz
Personally I would save a little more and get some Steiners, lots of glass for the money!! Same to be said for their scopes, slowly getting rid of my Sand Bs and replacing with Steiner
the enigma
http://www.strathspey.co.uk Good quality for the money, and a good company to deal with. I had a pair of 10x42, and they gave a good bright image.
mick miller
What Oscars dad says, I have a pair and they're flipping brilliant for the money.

tedster
http://www.strathspey.co.uk Good quality for the money, and a good company to deal with. I had a pair of 10x42, and they gave a good bright image. Me too! They are cracking binos for the money, 10x42 waterproof for just under 100 quid + post. Or 8x32, 8x42 all for the same money. Hardwoods Green
I have some Steiner Ranger Pro's for sale. PM me if any interest
fortune
It is difficult to hold binos with a mag of more than 7x >> 8x steady. Some are quite large and heavy to lug around. For my top jacket pocket I have a pair of Leica 8x20. They are superb world class optics with a bit of a price tag but the cost is forgotten and the quality is long lasting and if you get rid of them they hold a higher price

Traztaz
Steiner are a very very up and coming company, read fast as formula one car, their gear will become more expensive as the name takes hold. Personally if buying any kind of optic, or for that matter wanting to swap out my S and B just now that's the way to go.Great value for money,
