choice of 3 scopes, what would be your choice

1.Monarch 3 6-24x50 SF Rifle £550

2 bushnell elite 4.5-30x50 £690

 

3.VX-3 6.5-20x50 Long Range £930

i require a scope for my 22-250. its going to be a bit of an all rounder, long range crows, foxes and be ok with ad on night vision. ideally i want to keep this scope for years so its a one time purchase. if anybody has a one of these scopes please give it a review. id rather not buy the leupold but if its worth the extra cost il smash the piggy bank up! thanks all. sorry for another scope question.

They are all good quality scopes. If using an add on NV, it would work better if you have a parallax adjustable scope.

I've got a 5-15x50 Bushnell 3200 Elite and it's a very nice scope. Leupolds are nice too. I'm not sure about the Nikon as I have (as far as I know) never looked through one.

I'm after the same thing, apart from night vision use. I was thinking the same speck leupold. They look good.

From your line up I'd take the Leupold although the other two are very good also!

They were all rated the same on the SWFA scope test scale, so pick the one you fancy at the price you want to pay.

Love my bushnell elite 6500. Also very impressed with my doctor optics glass clarity. they are both great in comparison to my nikko's and hawkes.

 

Also for there money I think they make better value than the ziess

Pm kernel gadaffi off here he's got that leupold for a lot better price than that.

 

Out of them 3 at them prices though I'd get the Nikon as the other two are pretty much same spec but almost twice the price!

I am very happy with my Nikon Monarch although it is on my hmr.

The 30x magnification of the Bushnell is getting pretty high.

I have a Bushnell Tactical Elite 6-24x50 that I use for long range Hares & bunny's on my .204 (350-400yds) - its Excellent ! They say they're very good for add on's too.

I've got one of the older model Monarchs,6.5-20x44 with AO. Excellent scope,especially in low light.

Got the leupold myself, all be it a bit cheaper than that price. Nice scope good quality glass got mine sat on my .308 for range work so chose the fine duplex ret

that Leupold price is nuts!!

The Bushnell is 2/3 of the price and just as good for the money

 

IMO if you have £930 to spend get a top end 2nd hand Zeiss (or even a new Zeiss for £900!), Swaro or Schmidt and Bender

 

I had that Leupold and whilst it is very well made and works just fine in day light it is not a scope I would use lamping foxes or adding NV to

Thats where my money would be going. Quality optics will hold their value to, so you wont lose out should you need to sell it on.

I have a monarch 6-24 and its excellent. In fact it's nothing short of brilliant. You'll get it cheaper than £550 these days and it works great lamping or with nv. Very happy with mine. Great clarity through the whole mag up to 24. Adjustable height on the turrets so if you want to dial in long range shots you can use the ballistic turrets it comes with. Think you could pay around £400 now.

thanks for all reply's to this topic iv settled on a ziess conquest 6.5x20x50 used but mint for £500. iv already got a ziess duralyt 3 x 12 x50 on hmr and love this scopes.
