Tyrone
High all need some advice I bought a reloading machine at the game fair and am practicing but I seem to keep getting a swirl in the end and its not the neatest end either. They can be a little stiff to load to. I'm loading clear pigeon 32g 6s. I was told these aren't the best to reload mind. Any advice is welcome will load some photos at next practice. sitsinhedges
A swirl is because the precrimp is set too low using up too much of the case within the crimp. Back it off a bit.

turbo33
If its a Mec 600, You need to back off the cam Make a coffee or three and check out the video I did on it here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2zkCcrjiis
Tyrone
It is indeed a mec 600. I did try not pushing down so far on the per crimp and it did make a difference. Been looking for a good video found loads of yankie videos but none to help full, thanks for the link. Got a lot to learn yet!!
Tyrone
That's the video I have been searching for all day thanks for that. Defiantly not got mine set quiet right think I am pushing the wads in a bit to far. As I'm on fibre too.
turbo33
Let us know how you get on If there is anyone close to you that uses a Mec, successfully, get over to them for a lesson. It will save you from high blood pressure Edited September 16, 2013 by turbo33
Tyrone
Got on really well thanks made a massive difference. My mec is slightly different it's the 3 1/2" one and the spacer plate for mine was slightly on the ****. And needed some fetling on the spacing as ran out of adjustment on the cam. But think we have got it sorted well very very nearly
Tyrone
Well I have run a few more through and have had a few squashed ones. Have worked out mine is slightly different as I bought the one to do 3 1/2 shells. The spacer plate they supply is has 3 screws that the heads are to thick on I have shimed it down and now works great.

There shouldn't be any need to adjust a new machine to that extent. Nothing should be on the ****.
Tyrone
Yep bought it brand new at the weekend from the game fair. The cases wouldn't sit square to the crimping tools. I thought it was a bit off my self. But 50 cartridges later and it's working grand now.
Floating Chamber
I still think the Lee LoadAll is a better press for the beginner. I have ten of them now, in 12, 16 and 20, and each one is a dedicated tool, tailored to a specific load, and needs no adjustment.
