Cawdor118
Personally I'm a Beretta man as they have always seemed to be the best mounting and most "extension of the body" like to me. My father on the other hand has always been a Browning man, I always found they mount too low on me. Do any of you guys/girls feel the same loyalty to a brand as me? Would any of you cross the devide? Cheers Edited November 7, 2013 by Cawdor118
robbiep
If it fits, and it is properly built (and lets face it, some guns feel ... not well put together) then I'll use it. badge, make, whatever make no difference at all to me

robbiep
As strange as it may sound ... get a friend to hand you a gun - preferably with the obvious markings taped over. The gun can still be broken for you to see it is clear, you snap shut and bring to your shoulder. See how it feels, SAY out loud (so the friend can hear) how it feels, then break the gun and look at the maker. You may just be surprised at how much you can persuade yourself that a certain brand does (or does not) fit, and how much that changes when you do not know the brand
Malik
Beretta. I tried both beretta and browning when i first started learning so I wasn't bias. But beretta fits me perfect and i shoot well with them, so Beretta won!!

Like noticeably low. Beretta. I tried both beretta and browning when i first started learning so I wasn't bias. But beretta fits me perfect and i shoot well with them, so Beretta won!! Yup same Malik, I started with beretta and I feel as I have grown with them they are just an extension! They just feel comfortable!
Gordon R
I have owned quite a few of each and find both are excellent. It depends which model you buy. I only buy trap models. Whatever the make - most fit without any alteration. Whilst the dimensions seem very similar, balance isn't always the same - even with the identical model. I still own a Browning, but use a Salvinelli Monaco, which is far better handling than the other two makes - for me.

I own Browning 325s but I am always open to new ideas. I'm 5'10 and nearly 13 stone - is that relevant?
dashman1
Never owned a salvinelli, have shot the monza which I liked

Gordon R
I had a Beretta 682E Gold which weighed less than the Salvinelli, but felt a lot heavier. My youngest commented on the weight and he is the strongest person I know. It just doesn't feel like a heavy lump when shooting - some do. Westward
I've never liked the traditional 12g Brownings. In my hands they feel clumsy and lumpish, the triggers are dire compared with other mid range guns and you never know when the lower barrel is going to start failing to fire through erosion of the FP. However the 725 - an obvious attempt to emulate the 'Italian' feel - does seem to indicate that Browning is finally getting the message... Go to any registered sporting shoot and compare the common makes of O/U. Never mind just Beretta; Krieghoff, Perazzi and Miroku all outnumber Browning - and it probably won't be long before Guerini does too. Regular competition shooters tend to shoot what works well for them and only a few choose Browning. Brownings are nice in 20g though. delburt0
It's whatever suits, it's not a name thing... For me it's browning/miroku... But I have nothing against berettas.....

Most likely centre of gravity will affect the guns handling, I shoot a DT10 now and swear by the handling of the thing. It just seems all round well built. It's whatever suits, it's not a name thing... For me it's browning/miroku... But I have nothing against berettas..... Don't get me wrong, I'm totally not saying they are bad guns, I just mean for me they don't handle as well. Got both, like both! Haha I like your enthusiasm! Dominicrobed
Used to shoot beretta but now browning. Going to stick with one brand now so beretta misses out
Gordon R
Go to any clay shoot and you will probably find more Mirokus than any other make.

Cawdor118
Go to any clay shoot and you will probably find more Mirokus than any other make. My old man has a grade 5 miroku mk70 and I agree they are stunning guns, however he is the only person I know that shoots one. They don't seem to be so popular In the north of Scotland. Gordon R
Around the North West of England they are very popular. Great guns.

Gordon R
The basic Miroku seems to go for more than the basic Browning, which is slightly bizarre considering Miroku make the pair of them.

Cumbrian
How do members rate the new Browning 725, especially in terms of handling and trigger pulls? Doesn't seem to be much about this model on PW, though plenty of favourable reviews elsewhere.
