I trashed and destroyed Mk1 and 2 RS1800, 2000's's, Mexicos and Sports in numbers I can't now recollect. If they weren't pounded into the scrap yard then they were wrapped around trees, lamposts and on one occasion a Police car...that went down well! Their value now doesn't bear thinking about...then add on the Turbo Technics Capri, the Mk 2 Cortina Savage and a sprinkling of Cosworths and it gets really depressing! linny
1.43+ is that overtaking up a hill? Not the smartest move in the world if it was i no that road and area very well right past my old family farm the hill looks worst in the vid the bends just after are quite tight and the road is narrow not much room for error

timmytree
I don't know how I missed this thread! My oldest son is in to MK1 Escorts in a big way, he's built 2 with Honda power now, the 1st one went to Canada and competed in the Targa rally a few years ago, then got sold to a bloke in Los Angeles I believe and competed again this year. The 2nd is still here because he wants to race it himself, currently producing over 300 BHP I believe. Both have been featured in Classic Ford. I'll try and post up some links and pics later if anyones interested. Regards Tim http://bringatrailer.com/2011/03/27/newfoundland-vet-s2000-powered-ford-escort-mk1/ Found this one. la bala
Pics of my baby from many moons ago. This mk1 was hand built with new factory shell. Competition springs, Bilstein world cup front struts. Spax adjustable rear. It had bucket seats, rollcage, 3 point harnesses and quick rack amongst other bits. She was layered with many coats of BMW black, and in my eyes looked the dogs dangles. She was a hard ride, but a very exciting one.
