Aunt robbed in waitrose car park! Beware!

My 80 year old aunt was sitting in her car drinking a cup of coffee in Waitrose car park (Buckingham) when a young white guy came up to the car and knocked on her side window. She wound the window down and he asked her how to get to Cambridge from there, he had an Eastern European accent. She explained how to get there by bus and he then walked quickly away, a second guy appeared from behind her car and both walked off together.

Aunt then went to the Tesco store in the town to get a few more bits and pieces only to find when she took out her purse that all her credit cards had been stolen. She reported it to police who helped her to cancel the cards, apparently the pair have been operating in the area and police trying to catch them.

A while later she went to Tesco again and as the disabled spaces were all occupied had to park a bit further away. As she pulled up a guy, again white with Eastern European accent shouted across from his car that she had hit his car, he tried to encourage her to get out of her car to go and discuss the damage but she said again that she hadn't hit him. Had the presence of mind to get out her mobile phone and pretend to make a call then told the guy not to worry as the police were on their way and would sort it all out. Hearing that he started his car and shot out of the car park so another thieving scam attempt.

Bottom line it is a disgrace that these thieving, parasitic scum are targeting the elderly and vulnerable people!! They shouldn't have to spend their lives in fear of this sort of attack, it really stinks!!

If you have elderly friends or relatives do warn them of this sort of thing.

shocking i hope your aunt is ok? there was a similar incident like this in my home town where a woman using the click and collect grocery system at our local asda where a man grabbed her shopping from her as she was loading it into her car and ran off!! it must take a grave act of desperation to do that!! very sad really! i am not sticking up for the bloke but imagine actually being desperate enough to steal someones shopping out of their hands? :/

Ha ha ha nice one castletyne, lmao

Bleddy disgusting , as long as your aunt is ok that's all that matters,

These scum have no morals at all, to prey on the elderly is dispicable, they should be strung up,

Aunt is OK, pretty tough trio of sisters, her my late Mother and the other sister but law abiding people really shouldn't have to put up with being preyed on in this vile and cynical manner. No thought whatsoever is given to the potential psychological effects this could have on such vulnerable folk! Less robust pensioners could be really badly affected and what is left of their lives ruined.

Before anybody suggests otherwise it isn't another Daily Mail story but actually happened very close to home.

This sort of crime didn't happen when we were youngsters, still it is probably a small price for us to pay for the general cultural enrichment we get from having foreigners coming to stay.

Good to hear your aunt is ok Rooster and normally I would agree 100% with your statement but sadly this type of behaviour is all too common with our own home grown scumballs.
