Had mine for decades now (+ matching cartridge bag) and never washed despite v v mucky appearance. Like it as it is but SWMBO keeps threatening to stick in w/machine. Hangs on the back of lobby door where terriers and wife's spoilt lab lives so adds to overall ambience of that room. Shooting coats etc also there and would like a welly rack too but she thinks stink level would be too great. My favourite part of our old house.

I've had one of these for a dozen or more years, I never bother with cleaning the canvas but at the end of each shooting season I wipe clean the leather parts and in the warm and dry treat them witrh good old fashioned dubbin. In the past a number of padded , zippered gun slips have passed through my hands and lasted but a few years. On the other hand the buckle fastened Brady carried muzzle down is about as secure and convenient a method you can have for carying a gun in the field.

Best there is IMO, and I have the matching cartridge and game bags. On my second slip in 30 years, the first lasted about 12 of those.

I second that Blackpowder, I have one for each of my shotties (not all Brady's) some are Lightwoods but still well made leather and canvas. They seem to last a lifetime, maybe not the same padding as a modern slip but in the back of the motor no problem. I'm often out with three different guns during a day night session.

I must say though I've never cleaned mine!
