Dekers
"Rebel" What are these brand people on? What's with the bullet(?) holes on the box? How odd. But then again Eley did launch "Eley Realtree" and that also went pooh phut. There must we something about green cartridges that i'm missing? Not following the marketing at all! figgy
Have you got what it takes to unleash the Rebel in you. Not what you want you you youngsters with shotguns doing is it,unleashing the Rebel fully armed up  Soft on the shoulder hard on the target, soft in the head more like to buy them. I can imagine taking a young relative into the dealers to buy carts and him spouting the cack on the box and he is going to release the Rebel in him. First thing to happen would be a funny look quickly followed by a cuff to the lug and removing all sharp instruments from within reach before returning him home. Could be worse he could always ask for the pink Amber hill ones. Figgy Edited February 6, 2014 by figgy

poontang
Obviously just a marketing gimmick, unlikely to do any serious harm, though not very well thought out. Ironically I would have said the best name for a cartridge aimed at young shooters coming in to the sport would have been something along the lines of 'Eley First' I do find it a little odd that Eley have decided to go down the route of categorising shooters with a range aimed solely at youngsters, and another at laydees. I was always under the assumption that shooting is one of the most inclusive sports there is.
Chris Bb
I notice they don't bother to say what the load is. Perhaps it's 12g, that would be soft on the shoulder.

Chris Bb
12g in a 21 or 24gm load with a plastic wad. Plastic wads. That'll be handy for learning at the many grounds which only allow fibre.
HDAV
Plastic wads. That'll be handy for learning at the many grounds which only allow fibre. If aimed at "competition" shooters then all comp grounds allow plastic, also they will Insist on hearing protection!!!!
Chris Bb
If aimed at "competition" shooters then all comp grounds allow plastic, also they will Insist on hearing protection!!!!But they seem to be (mainly) aimed at young learners. Couldn't agree more about the hearing protection. I also don't like the packaging with "bullet holes".
Guest topshot_2k
I can't say Im impressed with the name of these or the Amber range aimed at women in bright pink cases, this silly marketing does nothing for the sport
LoL@Uall
I read all comments and I am deeply sadden by all the negative comments Eley is getting. Call it Rebel, call it Daisy, make it pink, make it mauve.... All they are trying to do is to bring new things to this already tired market. Listen to yourselves, you sound sad, old and above all...... Un supportive of this sport. Does X comp range from Hull, suggests that whoever buys it, spends hours on end watching X rated movies? I hope they do well, and bring more and more new things to this market, even if it annoys all royal Highnesses here! ..... And I don't even shoot their cartridges! dougall
I think supporting Amber, who is clearly great for our sport is 1 thing,I think naming a cartridge Rebel is counter productive/wrong messages etc...teaching safe gun handling to youngsters is a great thing, throwing the name Rebel in the mix is plain daft in my view. Calling a cartridge aimed at young people, "Rebel", IMO is a mistake . Having a cartridge for ladies that is pink, is at least patronising and condescending. It would be wise for the Eley Marketing Dept to take note of what customers say. Although I think this first post from a new member means they probably have already. No wonder the market dept is so poorly informed....... New things to a tired market? IS that why Olympics are being discontinued? Replaced with Rebel and Amber (wonder what they will do if she changes sponsor?)..... I dont know anyone who buys carts on "branding" most on price some on performance, Under 18's can't even buy cartridges....

ColinF
From what I hear, Eley should spend some more money on quality control rather than marketing, especially if this is the best the marketing dept can come up with....
