woodfordpigeon
I have been shooting pigeons for many years and have or heard of most things that decoy pigeons .I now prefer real birds that I keep in the freezer. FUDS were a craze once every one went mad trying to get hold of them ,Flock decoys very popular, socks now going strong. and all kinds of moving plastic pigeons with UV. I seem to be stuck in a rut of only real birds . Should I try anything new. woodfordpigeon

That way they come out ready to go on the rotary.... Usually change them after 2/3 outings. Quite simple to do!! TEH

Cosd
If you can store and use real birds then there is no reason to use plastics!

woodfordpigeon
Thanks for your advise but some of the rotary things must help for birds in the distance. flappers on a rotary. Does any one find that a flapper pulls birds better than real birds. woodfordpigeon
yickdaz
Shiny plastic ones for me everytime. wraivi
Thanks for your advise but some of the rotary things must help for birds in the distance. flappers on a rotary. Does any one find that a flapper pulls birds better than real birds. woodfordpigeon Rotaries and flappers are all just tools, I have used them loads, but there are weird occasions where bringing in the toys completely improved the situation. ..perhaps shot wisened birds?? Maybe had a fright over a rotary elswhere? Also remember a particularly good day started badly. Under a busy flight line, birds everywhere, but as they came in , birds flaring and veering off the pattern, jinking off early etc. Wasnt my hide as it was A1. So, moved the rotary 90degrees to my left about 20 yards, pulled in one flapper and bingo. Game on. Did not have chance to cool the barrel. One of those days that sticks in memory, you know. Why I love it, every times different and always challenges to overcome.
