Hi,

My name is John Clements and I own South Worcester Shooting ground. I have been building up the ground for the past 27 years and now have over 30 traps with 19 stands. We don’t normally do competitions but concentrate on sporting practice and tuition. With the large range of traps plus our very high towers we are popular with game shooters as well as clay shooters at all levels. We have a dedicated tuition area so have probably the best facilitates for coaching novices in the area. I have a great team of coaches covering a wide range of skills from specific ladies days, juniors, gun fitting, game shooting as well as clay shooting at all levels. Have a look at my web site www.swsg.co.uk for dates, times and directions.

I look forward to meeting some of you at the ground and may more on the forum. Regards, John

Thanks for all those positive comments. Can't wait for the rain to stop and Upton to be 'open' again. If you can get to the west side of the Severn you can always get to the ground from the Malvern/Hanley Swan/welland direction - it just seems to have rained every Wednesday for weeks and weeks - very depressing when you go to the effort of getting up at 5.45am to put out all the traps and it starts raining at 9.45!!!! In 27 years we haven't flooded - touching every bit of wood within sight!!

I haven't heard from Vicky Lacks - S&CBC - this year - which is a shame as we were the first ground to host one of her days. Becky Sealey - my 'apprentice' (Ex England team member) runs several specific 'Ladies' days during the year - no cake making challenges or smartest cartridge bag competition I'm afraid - but you do learn to shoot better!!

If anyone would like to join my regular e.m. newsletter, which keeps you up to date with everything that is going on, just drop me an e-m to info@swsg.co.uk and I will add you to the list.

Looking forward to Sat March 8th and our first weekend shoot of 2014.

John
