brett1985
if they did ban shotguns here, i genuinely think that would give alot of people the final nudge into leaving this country. look at how many people are currently leaving and moving abroad... its a sad state of affairs. i for one am already thinking about packing up and moving to the states.... The Americans are quite keen for us to go and fight in their wars for them but not so keen on us going to live there.very difficult to get residency and truck loads of cash needed

Scully
£150-250 for handguns if i remember guns only no ammo holsters extra mag's etc. Someone i shot with had two SV infinitys £1700 a pop one 45acp one 10mm six mags for each £70 odd quid each so he keeps his in france & still shoots them. Was this your personal experience? My revolvers and pistols were individually appraised and valued. I got what that value was and was paid for all ancilleries including ammo, holsters, speedloaders, magazines, case lube, dies, everything. brett1985
I am curious ,why the states? I have family and friends out in the states, and work for a company that would sponsor me to move if i found a job at a dealership out there... plus, if i sold my house here in the uk, the profit i make would be more than enough to buy me a similar size place outright in most american states... and then, there is also the slightly more relaxed gun laws which of course would be a bonus.... No just something i remember reading, i'd already sold mine by the time the ban had come in. As i had not had my pistols long sold them back to the shop i brought them from at not much of a loss to myself. The guy i shot with had his valued also at a good price but still sent them to gun club over the channel so he can still shoot them.

Still didn't compensate enough for the loss though.

Greg.L
Ths thread takes scare mongering to olympic levels . . Its so funny to read Sorry, maybe it was a mistake to post this up on here. I was just interested to know what happened in relation to the handgun ban and if the same system might be used should the same ever happen with shotguns. I appear to have opened a can of hypothetical worms

cueball
I don't think their would be a complete ban ever due to their use as an agricultural tool. A more realistic approach would be limiting the number of guns that could be held on a shotgun cert. Hypothetically of course.
hoggysreels
Hypothetically .. what if the space shuttle hand break cable snaps ... ? Should l get extra insurance coverage on my roof tiles or look into an alternative religion? PW speculation/scare mongering knows not bounds ... anyhow, no harm done lol

gemini52
When the hand gun ban came in shooters just rolled over and took it,with shot gun owners i think it would be totally different,i lost my guns and a sport that i loved,if a ban ever came in,what would be left, shooting at tin cans in the garden with a catapult.imagine the the votes lost,it would take a very foolish government to bring in a ban.
