GB Curling teams have been fantastic ... you can see them giving it their all, mentally and physically ... so proud of those proud Scots .. if the men get gold or silver and the women, bronze or 4th ... still proud of them ... cant wait for Salmond to choke seeing these Brits doing it for the Island ... lol

I wonder how Scotland will fare in any Olympics after they get independence?

I was watching some of the Curling this morning and it was quit boring first one team would chuck a stone down the lane and it would stop near to the middle then the net teem would throw one and knock it out so that in the end the person who went last was going to win unless he/she did something stupid what is the point in that.

Bit like cricket then really. Completely pointless

Quite a lot off tatics involved and takes a considerate ammount of skill and practise to pull some of them shots off. Each to there own thou

Its about tactics, if you dont think it through you will miss the point.

I can understand it when they get several stones in the circle and you try to knock out the other sides stone and leave your stone to score points but just but as they girls did play several games of just one side throws a stone and the other team just knocks it out I do not see the point in that in the end the only reason that the girls got a bronze was that they had the last stone so could knock the others stone out if I was not waiting for someone to call and collect a parcel I would have been out the door in no time paint drying comes to mind.

Never seen the game but that is quite an attacking approach, quite often in ends like that if u have the last stone (hammer) and house is empty apart from opisitions last stone u will try to knock it out and ur own so no score so u keep the last stone advantage, the girls broke and equalled the olypic record for highest scores in earlier rounds. Think in some of the earlier games they lost as eve (skip who throws last stone) went for a big shot instead of sitting on the 1 and they ended up losing, so possibly playing safe if got noses infront, big prize an olympic medal

Often they will try to kep the hammer for getting 2 or 3 stones in the house, instead of just the 1
