English archer
That's how long the tyres lased on the front of our Vauxhall Insignia, we need to have the second front tyre replaced tomorrow.I posted about this on a car forum, and found that 13,000 miles is normal from this car in the estate version.Glad I'm not paying for them. It's a motability car. bruno22rf
My Saab 9-5 eats them in less than 10k-and that's the highest rated Pirelli jobs @ £140 each
Brad93
Nexen tyres are the ********. Approaching 40000 miles on three Navaras and now a 5.7L jeep cherokee
Dekers
Rotating wheel as appropriate I get 22,000 miles total per set of 4 tyres on my X-Trail, not exactly impressive but sounds better than above!
Fuji Shooter
The missus gets through a set of Yoko's on her Beetle every 6K - £750 a set - I told her to put General Grabber ATs on it but she won't listen.
English archer
Wow, are all modern cars this bad on tyres? I've always had classics or 4x4's. As this is a car aimed squarely at the rep market, I thought it would be far better on tyres than this.

I posted about this on a car forum, and found that 13,000 miles is normal from this car in the estate version. Glad I'm not paying for them. It's a motability car. Got a 2 year old Insignia with nearly 70,000 mile on it. First set of front tyres did 26,000 and every set since have done between 12 - 15000 ! The rears are obviously better - only just on third set. The interesting thing is that the tyre make has not changed.
HDAV
Front wheel drive heavy car on grippy tyres eats them nexxen terrible grip I got 20k+ out of michelins on my Astra corsa van works does 30k to a set of fronts cheapest on sale at the time..... Rears are doing 60k horrible tyre though
norfolk dumpling
Wife's big Mini (Countryman) has hit 23k and I reckon we have another 10k at least. Not hard use but poor quality country lanes. My old banger very low mileage so tyres may see me off this planet.
kent
Drive a Scooby mate they just eat tyres. I am told the big 4x4 Porche Cayane can do a set in well under 5k
Rupert
Shocking how short the life on some modern tyres.I would expect them to last longer than a lot above.I do drive with mpg in mind but even the rears on my 997 did 15k and the fronts worn on the inner edge 21k. team tractor
I use barum tyres on my Vw as their £50 less each than continental but made by them. I've heard of 30+ on the same van but I'm baffled how I drive steady as I can't afford the diesel but also have a little bit of fun being 140bhp . If you don't drive them hard occasionally you ****** the engine up

ack-ack
My spare has clocked up 147K miles. It is still as good as new.
FatherandSon
I had Nexens on my commuter and they did 44,000 on the fronts, they were borderline legal when I sold it. The rears were only half worn so I reckon could have done another 40,000.
Chris Bb
Drive a Scooby mate they just eat tyres. I am told the big 4x4 Porche Cayane can do a set in well under 5k Had a Subaru Legacy. 30K miles on the fronts and the rears still good for at least another 10K when sold. Having said that, I always find that factory fitted tyres last longer than replacements. Do tyre manufacturers make better grades for car builders? 88b
Got a 2 year old Insignia with nearly 70,000 mile on it. First set of front tyres did 26,000 and every set since have done between 12 - 15000 ! The rears are obviously better - only just on third set. The interesting thing is that the tyre make has not changed. All tyres are not equal, the best tyres always go to the manufacturers, then there will be two or three other grades of the same tyre. That's why the original tyres always seem best. Front wheel drive and power steering eat tyres, if you want good grip in the wet you need soft tyres that don't last as long. IMO Yokohama and Pirelli are good tyres but they don't last.

cant hit rabbits 123
The tyres on my Beetle are unnamed other than a serial number, and the documentation says there were fitted in 1968. Although I admit my milage is limited and they will need replacement in the near future, I'd say they have held out quite nicely.
