Longbower
Hi, well. are they reliable, and robust , or load fussy.or low brass fussy Light /heavy to carry?
Gingar
ive had no problem with mine up to now (2 years) ive shot pigeon from the hide and roost shooting, walk rounds days on pheasants with no problems at all.. no jams but usually shoot 70mm + cartages... as for carrying it I just fit a sling and its fine the only problem is that it doesn't like water.. you must keep it well oiled especially inside the magazine tube. Longbower
Roger that . I am just fed up with buying guns that dont work. I just want a reliable multi shot, without going to a semi Auto..
kent
Oil inside a mag tube? Bad idea! Keep it perfectly clean, you don't want oily shells in your chamber and the oil will attract and hold contaminates that will be hard to clean out once inside
hedd-wyn
I'm surprised they 'don't like water' always regarded them as wildfowling gun?

Keep it perfectly clean, you don't want oily shells in your chamber and the oil will attract and hold contaminates that will be hard to clean out once inside You need to wipe inside a mag tube with a lightly oiled rag, not a dripping oily rag. If you use this gun for fowling you will see what I mean about the mag tube rusting, I could not believe how quick it does. Just giving the lad my views from owning one, with things that have happened to it. Edited March 28, 2014 by reggiegun
theshootist
I have a super nova. As a pure tool I think it is the best pump action gun available at the moment. I have a number of more 'classic' pumps but the super nova is simply better. I like the long loading port that I can drop two shells at a time into. The controls are simple and I can even work the mag cut off. It can fire any length of 12g cartridge and has never stopped. I use mine for practical shotgun, so it gets used quite hard. Its regular use by PSG shooters must say something about its robustness and reliability. My only criticisms would be that the plastic furniture can be hard on your hands and that it is also ugly, but for me its just a tool. If you want to oil the tube internally you do so but I don't think it a good idea, keeping the tube clean is imperative to an auto functioning correctly. If it rusts then the gun is unsuited to purpose (though I suspect the rust is coming from the non stainless mag spring bleeding the oil you put in) Edited March 28, 2014 by kent

theshootist
The mag tube on mine hasn't rusted and it has been wet a lot, although not exposed to salt. The touh finish on the metal parts is good, but all metal will corrode eventually, even the barrel of a Blaser. Mag springs as we know, will normally rust like crazy if they are allowed to. Guest cookoff013
i`ve had mine for about 5 years. give it a good hammering now and again. when i first bought it i hammered 1000 shells through it on a day. i agree that the barrel and mag tube / spring do rust. but i`ve completely stripped mine down and cleaned the hell out of it, dried it off. i also oiled the barrel / as i noticed some flecks. apart from that its fantastic. i usually use it or it is my "loaner" but it can handle the shells. last time i shot 63 gram bb loads. Steel100
I also have a Super Nova and would basically agree with what others have said: Ugly as an ugly thing; easy to load two at a time, due to the large loading port; I've always found mine to be completely reliable; I find that the comfortech stock seems to work as advertised; mine is fitted with the high comb to put my head in line with the Eotech sight as mine is used almost exclusively, with slug ammo. Also, had an extended 10 shot tube made. If you want 'character' get an Ithaca 37 or a Winchester 1897. If you want a tool, get the Benelli. darren m
yep had one , wish i had kept it now. mainly used it for pigeon roost shooting and it went perfect with 65mm (2.5 inch ) carts. its a pump so of course it'll take everything , i got through no end of SG and AAA ,
phaedra1106
Two faults to look for. 1. Load gate sticking in the "up" position after loading shells, slowly start to pull back the pump action make sure it immediately drops back down, if it doesn't the next shell being fed falls out of the bottom!. 2. Trigger jamming in the "pulled" position, many of the triggers have a square section of plastic on the back of them, 2 minute job with a small file to round the corners off so it's rounded in shape. Other than a pretty long throw on the shuttle action they work fine.
mudpatten
Get a plastic coated version to help reduce the risk of rust. I`ve used mine for both pigeon shooting and some spectacularly muddy wildfowling without any problem. It has passed the sternest test of all, as long time cripple stopper in a salt water gunning punt, with flying colours.
