eccles
Had a call off my mate Geraint had heard me shooting other valley Wednesday morning asked if i'd do his next. Did put post up yesterday about it. Had a look yesterday morning seen a place where i thought looked ok for hide etc. His son Renallt took my kit up yesterday to save me carrying it this morning. Got up at 5.00 breakfast feed dogs etc and picked up gun and carts and was ready to go. Drove to farm about 15 mins away quick walk to where i thought he'd put my kit not there walked on a bit to gate there it was. So through gate set up hide and out with the decoys. Thing 8 full body about same shells. Back to hide for a cuppa and smoke. Could hear crows coming off the roasts in the distance making a bit of racket about 6.10 ish. Was not long before a few came to have a look did not shoot till 6.30ish village not far away Then i realised that Renallt had put kit in right field me wrong in the dark. They came in nice and steady 1 or 2 the odd 4s and 1 big bunch which i did not shoot at never shoot at bunches. Shoot great all morning taking some fine crows they came in at all angles so was great sport. Renallt came by with a few bacon butties smiled when he saw the dead crows told him there was 7 down the bottom of field asked if he'd pick them up on his rounds no prob he said. As we where talking could see a carrion heading my way in the distance he walked back to quad bike and the carrion came in high to my right dropped him clean Renallt shouting bloody great shot Ter. Finished coming in about 10ish so packed up.Picked all in my field plus a dozen in field to my right. Picked these in pic 90 carrion 5 jackdaw and i think 2 behind me which i did not fetch. Went back to farm yard Geraint was with the sheep said hear you been dropping them crows with a huge smile on his face. Told me Renallt had picked up them 7 dead crows so total 104 or so another 100 + morning this week. This morning i was using Trust 6 and Clear pigeon which i picked up yesterday. Not bad shooting for 118 carts Some pics of hide and views from hide of more of my permissions. PICS pics

ukkat
Get em in close, you just have to be so still, their eyesight is so much better than pigeons. the slightest movment will have them wheeling away. Glenn.

eccles
Thanks chaps for you kind comments. Crow shooting is my favourite shooting, been doing it for 40 + years got it down to a fine art now. Fenboy yes farmers are always happy when they hear the banging on their land. I'm luck go where i want in the area so the crows are never off my permissions cover a huge area of land. Never have to phone any farmer only to get their cash out ,phone a couple if i'm out foxing at night only.
