AVB
So 14 months after we started thinking about a move we have finally moved. House completion (money doesn't arrive in bank until Monday though I have been told) gone through, moved into rental property just outside Norwich and do my first commute into London tomorrow! House and garage full of boxes (and I mean full) and have taken out a large room in a 'yellow box' storage facility which is also full. Just need to find a place to buy now before I squander away the proceeds. Thanks to everybody for the advice and I will be meeting up with the Norwich contingent in the near future (although we are off to Mauritius next week so will be after that). secretagentmole
Oi! My partners from lowestoft got to agree the whole area is lovely and weirdly flat like being in holland but you do have to watch out for the people.. and travelling can be annoying no big roads You take that back. Several have now got white lines in the middle of them as opposed to the organic Norfolk alternative, grass....

norfolk dumpling
Near Wroxham/coltishall? Found this after being diverted off the Nth Walsham road a few months ago. Was this the UK's first even dual carriageway??
bi9johnny
The outlaws live in North Walsham and love it they moved from Black Bury Hill Luton so anywhere was going to be better. I work in Norwich one weekend every year at the Tattoo Convention and the only thing that I think is wrong is they seem to have more homeless/rough sleepers than say Liverpool ?? Paddy Galore!
if you had spoken to them you would have found they were, in fact from Liverpool and on holiday with a dodgy travel company from Norwich they should've come seen me, i'd have set them up in some old council void properties, seriously though, there's a lot of begging about, but don't be fooled as this is a living to some, they have homes to go to, just that they also have bad habits to feed. Paddy Galore!
if you're going for a meal out, try the ferry house in surlingham, right on the broads, the menu is a bit limited but the food is good.

AVB
So a few days into living in Norfolk what have I found out. 1). The neighbours are friendly. All have been around to introduce themselves which I haven't experienced before further down south. They all wanted to come in for a chat which I found a bit weird initially. 2). Shops close early. By 6pm the majority are closed, some by 8pm. Even large supermarkets close at 10pm. Haven't they heard of 24 hour opening? 3). Petrol/diesel is cheaper. If have even seen garages with both priced the same. 4). Tractors are common. 5). It's quiet.
Harnser
You don't want to be going outside after 6pm and keep your doors locked . The occult and the witches covens roam the streets looking for new members . Some real strange people live in your village . Don't trust anybody and don't allow them in your house . norfolk dumpling
Keep an eye out for inbreads - we've got a bunch near us who really should be in secure accommodation. I thought the copper who lived next door was joking when he explained the relationship between the post lady, the (now dead) gamekeeper and the farming family down the road. Having been here 20+ yrs there is no doubt the gene pool needs diluting! One of these strange creatures hasn't ever driven out of Norfolk although he has a week in Benedorm annually.
