bicykillgaz
I use a sako (not a sak!) mod on my .22lr I find it a great mod, I've tried a few but find it the best in its price range. Personally I wouldn't bother pending more than £40 on a rimfire mod as you'll pay twice as much for a fraction more noise reduction. As for ammo there is no definite answer, it's, down to finding what ammo your gun likes. Best off going and getting a box or two of as many brands as you can and spend a day testing them. la bala
PH suits my .22 fine
Buko
Sak on my anshutz 22lr, only tried cci and eley hp subsonic so far with eley the quietest and far better grouping
snipers eye
stick with sak, your not going to get hollywood quiet no matter what mod you use,i find eley subs best in my cz
Beardo
I've tried a few including wildcat cub, sak, Parker hale, etc. The Parker hale is still my fave on the .22lr Slim and quiet.
welshwarrior
I've have wildcat whisper SAK scirocco ph to be honest I don't dislike any of them currently have a scirocco on the 22 as it fits in and looks nice on my rifle and the whisper is on the HMR. AULD YIN
Use PH on both my Anschuts and Winchester subs, but dont know if its my imagination but the head on the Winchesters dont seem to be as well formed as i remember , johnnie
Amazed
Just got a batch of eley and they are running really well. Best to try a few different types as gaz said. I have a 3rd eye mod not the quietest but it's very small light and under £40.
Dekers
Frankly any mod is ok on a .22lr, and the difference in sound reduction, if you are using sub sonic ammo, isn't worth the debate. Hence why SAK are so popular, always used to be PH back in the day, but there was next to nothing else available back then, and technology has hardly moved so they still work! Any ammo can ricochet, the .22lr is still the worlds most popular civil calibre by miles, so most people can obviously deal with that issue, hitting your quarry is a good start. Just the same some ammo may be better than others, allegedly CCI segmented is meant to help, others swear by it, I am no fan of it on performance or accuracy......or price! Cumbrian
I found that CCIs tended not to load into the chamber of my CZ after the first round, so I abandoned them. Winchesters seem o.k. but haven't been shooting much with my .22 lately.
steve_b_wales
I've tried a few including wildcat cub, sak, Parker hale, etc. The Parker hale is still my fave on the .22lr Slim and quiet. +1. Probably the earliest make of sound moderator. I still have one that I purchased for my .22 BRNO in 1985.
Berettacocker
I've parker hale on my old Brno, you can strip them down to clean them. Never cleaned mine but still quiet!! I use Winchester subs ( can't fault ). Regarding ricochets don't think you can avoid the odd one, especially during summer when stubbles, meadows etc can be backed hard. Just take care. Brad93
I use a SAK on my CZ, I have a Atec Ultra but that makes no discernible difference even though it is £60 odd quid more expensive. Just sits in the cabinet waiting for a .17 Edited May 27, 2014 by Brad93
fendrover90
I've got a sak on the finnfire 22 and a sirocco on the 455 17 tried the sirocco on the 22 without any differance realy and the sak just ruins the lines of the

NickB65
Sako mod but it came with the gun and I can not complain - it is quieter than my HW97 :-) Winchester sub are good and group well but the new batches are not as good - just got some RWS and they seem to shoot more consistently.
