Guest rimotu66
I do not mean there playing as I have no interest at all in footy, I saw the intro to the match tonight and the other teams players all sang there national anthem with feeling and passion, I stayed on the channel to watch our national team and saw 80% of them mumbling at best, absolutely disgusting to see 11 men supposedly representing there country not able to sing there national anthem with pride at least. It would not happen in rugby.
oscarsdad
The game was also delayed by a mincing foreigner doing his hair... 90minutes of pretending you're injured rather than 80 minutes pretending you're not...bunch of jessies.... Medic1281
I agree 100%. I'm not a football man, and watching the first half has only reinforced this! What a dull bunch of cheats. Where has the sportsmanship gone? The pride in the game? The sooner the England team are back on the plane coming home the better!

Dr_Scholl
Here's some motivation for you. If you lose this game, not only will you be eliminated, but the US team will have won more games than you this World Cup. Let that sink in for a minute... figgy
Thereto thick to remember man kick ball that they need telling again at half time. Man come near fall down and grab leg start crying. If told off by nasty man in black it's not your fault ever. Figgy
figgy
Not suprised America will do better than England, you have people who want to it for national pride, ours think of nothing but themselves. Figgy
FalconFN
Why do we have God save the Queen as the British national anthem and as the English national anthem? I'd prefer land of hope and glory for the latter, or at a push, I'm sexy and I know it. I think more people would sing I'd they believed in God and loved the Queen. It doesn't really represent much of England anymore. Go England soccer-ball squad!

Figgy I have to agree with you there Figgy, as much as some people slate Americans (I am not one of them by the way, I would sooner England was America's 51st State then part of the EU) they still have a national pride that England has not seen for many years. You can prefer all you want, the fact is God Save the Queen Is our national anthem and any self respecting Englishman should sing it with pride. Did you also mean that Her Royal Highness the Queen of England does not really represent England anymore Edited June 19, 2014 by rimotu66

Guest rimotu66
Guys, please, this is a thread more about national pride then the footie game (there is another thread on here to chat about footie)
ack-ack
even though you lot have no interested in the football you all seem to know an awful lot about it and have'expert' views on it. I dont think one has to be an expert to feel ashamed. My basic understanding of the game is that success is wholly dependant on the scoring of goals whilst preventing the opposing team scoring goals. From what i have witnessed thus far this basic principle has been largely over looked.
figgy
Should have had James Corden give them his speech before the game, and the words to the National Anthem. Figgy
