Evening all ,

well on Tuesday this week I had a trip to the Dentist to have a back Tooth out , to be fare the tooth coming out didn't hurt a bit , however since then the pain in my jaw has been horrendous , as much as I wanted to go shooting I couldn't face putting my jaw up against the stock let alone pull the trigger , I tried to had a go last night and managed about 15 shots before I called it a night , as I wanted to save myself for today as long as it calmed down .

So I got up this morning , pain has eased right off so I thought sod it im going for it , as long as I take it easy and take Mr Nurofen Express with me I will be fine . so off I went .

got to field and set up with 2 dead birds on a magnet , I was shooting over Spring rape . I shot there last weekend , but while I was sat on what seemed a productive line , I notice birds at another field , so I thought I would give it a go . Anyway made a small pattern with 9 dead birds on cradles as I went along . but as I shot birds I bought them in and covered with a net to keep the fly's off , I didn't change the pattern at all , the birds seemed to like it so I just went with it . as I started shooting my jaw was so - so but I was a bit cautious about putting my head right down , so I ended up lifting my head from time to time which was a bit frustrating as I knew I was doing it but had not choice because of my jaw . still as im typing this im really suffering now face is killing me , but you know what's its like .. you just cant keep a good man down . as for carts I was using a mixture of 28 grm 6's with a 3/4 choke . I keep messing about trying different carts but I just cant seem to find one better than the Prima 28 grm #6 in fibre . my A400 just eats them up . also found out today it does NOT like 67mm , I had a few jams , but never with the 70mm stuff , even right down to a 21 grm load , still that's another story.

also messed up some of my video as my blooming head cam kept slipping down so I ended up with lots of videos showing the birds dropping , but you cant you cant see the shot cos the cam too low ........ gutted !

still here is some footage from the day , I ended up with 108 woodies , I could have shot more if I had been on my game , but I done my best and I was still very chuffed with the results .

regards stevo

enjoy

Great video that, I'm surprised you didn't show off and shoot left handed to ease the jaw a bit :)

haha I wish I could , by the afternoon my face was starting to ache a bit , but I just kept saying to my self " I'll just shoot a couple more and I'll call it a day " but you know what's its like

Another great vid Stevo, how far was your magnet from the hide?

Hope you jaw gets better quick mate.

I had it about 25 yrds , I normally put it out at 30 -35 yrds however I was right where they wanted to be so I knew they would commit fairly close

I can give you no helpful advice about your decoying or your shooting skills. However may I suggest that you have the rest of your teeth out to prevent a similar problem occurring again.

Haha . I sometimes wonder if it would be less agro . TBH ive been lucky with my teeth upto now . Only reason I had it out was the filling I had in there ended up with a hairline crack in it . The back half of the filling was moving down and resting on my nerve . He said he would try to root chanel it but I said nah ..... take it out its done with then lol I just forgot about the week of pain after . Still its getting better . Its just the bruising from the extraction .

Buy hey guys im touched by your concern :-)
