CFSPORTS
TX200 or HW97 both epic guns. Give me a shout if you want a price
tharsus
Depends on what its for, I have had among others a tx200hc, hw80. hw95, original 50 and now have a Diana 280k. The tx/97 are nice guns, just too heavy and I do not rate a underlever for hunting.

On the other hand, it does shoot very well.
bullet boy
A tuned HW80 will be the best Springer IMO!
Cymru-Dave
I'll give a biased opinion, I have a tuned hw97 and 98 and they are both awesome, the 98 I would say is nicer to shoot and it's the rifle I pick up first, BUT... People really do swear by the TX200, I'd like to add one to my collection, the bear trap I do find a pain but I'm sure you'd get used to it, all are capable of putting the pellet where you want it to go, the feel and in some cases the looks are big factors however, the budget you have will get you any of the top springers out there. But my choice would be the 98, I just love it and people are always trying to buy it off me so it seems quite desirable.
lordripon
trust me THEOBEN SLR gas ram multi shot awesome and I would think you would make money on it as the years go by.
bert brabham
Air arms pro sport with a venom kit. I think of it as a airsporter with class . Mine has been tuned And for a springer is very smooth ,not as heavy as a 97k and reasonably quiet.
James_w12345
Weirarch HW97K all the way. ive owned both that and the Air Arms TX200, they are very similar but the Weirarch pips it. Also if you get it tuned, it can be nearly as quiet and recoil-less as a precharged, with none of the issues of filling. (though some times i would have loved to have a quick second follow up shot with a precharged multishot). They can both drop small vermin and birds up to 40 yards (more if you are a better shot!) Les*1066
Another vote for the HW97K. Superb rifles, although a bit on the heavy side. The TX200 is also very good, as it comes out of the box 'pre-tuned'.
James_w12345
I find the heavyness of the HW97K to be a benifit.... less wave when holding the gun standing & unsupported than with a lighter gun. also it fills me with confidence (perhaps falsely) that it is rugged and built to last! Alycidon
trust me THEOBEN SLR gas ram multi shot awesome and I would think you would make money on it as the years go by. Agreed. Only air rifle I have used where you could put a wide range of pellet weights into the magazine and it would group the lot togther. I agree ..... They also have a larger loading port which is helpful for older fingers.
hatsanmad
For me it has to be the hw85 first hw98 second and hw80 third
FalconFN
Nobody going for the AA Prosport then? If I had to have one spring rifle it would be that but with the HW 97 and TX200 a close second.

Shorty
Just bought a TX 200, gobsmacked on how accurate it is, 20mm groups at 40yds. Well built and a good looking gun. Cheers Shorty
