malkiserow
I have a sub 12 flb HW100 that needs a new scope, what do you recommend ? I like some mildots for hold over/under on a air rifle I like light weight especially on this gun Not a huge objective as the comb is low and it all needs to be low profile I use the gun for garden target work and a bit of vermin around buildings Budget, Don't know yet..... the gun is decent and I have an old Tasco which is not much good optically so cheap and cheerful is no good to me. Nice scopes the Hawke has the colour change reticule which is useful against different backgrounds and changing light. Best to have a look and see what you fancy. I don't see why you want mildots for such use you should mount low to the barrel and forget hold mostly. 1.5- 5 x 20 Simmonds WTC IMO, real short focus, wide field of view and mounts low
NathanM
To be fair, just my opinion, but I seem to use mildots a lot with an air rifle. They make shooting quarry outside of your zero range much easier, as you know the exact distance each mildot corresponds to (if you learn it!). They are even better if you use the Hawke BRC app, makes learning the distances much easier!

bicykillgaz
Meopta 6x42 fixed with 4a or 4b reticle would be perfect. 6x is plenty for .22lr so more than enough for .22 air rifle, plus the reticles have hold over points.
