evo
went out last Wednesday for a few hours on the crows and after two hours the right barrel stopped firing , I pulled the trigger and "click" the cartridge did not fire, so spent the rest of the day using the rear trigger to fire the full choke left barrel, was a bit gutted as ended up with just under 60 and it should of been a lot more, now being handy ,,,could I do this myself on my sxs or am I best paying to get it done at the gunsmiths when I opened the barrels the right cartridge had been hit with the firing pin but the cartridge was only just about marked, I did think it was the cartridge at first but tried a couple of different ones and it is definitely the pin not striking hard enough, I don't want to pay silly money out if its a simple job I could do myself, any help is appreciated cheers Evo ps, its the first time this has ever happened and it is definitely the firing pin not hitting the cartridge hard enough, the gun is a 1974 Eibar sxs thanks again Evo
JohnfromUK
Sounds like a broken firing pin (but could be other things). If so, a new one will have to be obtained and fitted, or more likely made. If made, it will need the correct heat treatment (hardening and tempering). This is a skilled job to get right (the turning the part is straightforward on a lathe, but correct treatment needs skill and experience to get right). Having said that, it is a common and not expensive job at a gunsmith.
TIGHTCHOKE
Take it to a gunsmith, get a quote from more than one and see what it comes to. No point in having a gun that only fires one of its barrels.
Guest cookoff013
Smith will be cheaper than a bodge job. Get it in now, the game season is about to start.

Gunman
It will be almost certainly be either a striker or main spring .
Gemini
If it has disc set strikers (which I think Eibar's do) then it will be a fairly cheap job because the gunsmith will have a proper disc removal tool. I made one some years ago that fits into my impact driver to start the disc turning, afterwhich I can turn it manually. If you don't have the correct tool you will make a hell of a mess of the disc as well as the face, so it isn't worth it in the long run, otherwise its a simple job to do it yourself. flynny
As has been said mate, probably the firing pin. Eddie Jackson is a nice guy and does a good job, should cost bout £30-£50, ( or you could stop buying air rifles ha ha and buy a good semi auto to add to the collection) Atb Flynny
HDAV
Firing pin worn or damaged or spring worn causing light strikes. Smith should have you back to both barrels firing for under £50and full strip and clean while the stock is off.

Mike737
My local gunsmith charged me £20.00 to make, harden and fit a new striker for my semi-auto, so shouldn't be an expensive job.
