matone
People that are responsible for shoots like the usually don`t know what they don`t know,if they had a response it is usually to denigrate anyone who criticises.I`ve watched the antics of some of them on here over the years and you can spot the telltale signs ! scolopax
I have shot here on and off for a good few years, never had a bad day, but you get what you pay for......do not expect to be shooting something every drive or to be filling your boots. Lots of ducks, some good birds if you are selective, partridges were hit and miss, pheasants more reliable. Early season was always best, definitely over shot in the past, but I here there has been changes recently. Based on several separate farms, large acreage, some more game friendly than others. lee-stroud
I'm selling this day and it's early on with some very good birds Simple fact is if you don't like the shoot don't come if I thought in any way people would be up set I would not put my name to it
cosmos05
Well said lee. People are so easy to criticise these days, if your not interested ignore post and move on, all lee is trying to do is organise some shooting for people. Bantam boy
It's too early to be shooting pheasants really, first week of October ,they won't have any tails, sounds awful.
Tam
They have plenty of tails up here in "Gods Country" & in great form :good:
Arley
Depends when the birds are released? Local commercial shoot will be shooting pheasants next week but the birds are released in June and they are driven from cover crops. I have never met Lee but I am sure if he wasn't confident the shoot could provide both the numbers and the quality he wouldn't be advertising the day? Very true, I am out next Saturday, might need to be selective on the odd bird but we expect a good bag.
Bantam boy
yes, can't see them being that selective somehow, if they are shooting duck that are still sitting on the water! As I said awful.

browning123
We start our driven days the 2nd week in November.
Bantam boy
November is a far better time to start shooting pheasants, gives them a chance to feather up properly, and get some strength in their wings.
Fuddster
I'll decline this offer on the grounds of taking a day with Whinny a few years ago. never again. read into that what you will. after all its only my singular opinion. you spend your own cash and see how you get on. f. ezi bez
My poults will be around 22 weeks when we start shooting 8th November. But shot a few wild cocks last week in full colour with long tails this years birds except a stonking old cock weighing nearly 2 kg biggest I've ever shot or seen, as said depends on what time of year they hatch.
