steve_b_wales
Has anyone used the above powder when loading a 100gr soft point bullet? I have always used H380 for reloading my 243 & 22-250, but stocks of this powder have virtually run dry. Steve.
mick miller
Hmm, yes, but I'm no expert. I'm using N150 for my 243 but I'm still in 'load development'. Seems readily available though, unlike some. Another one to try are the Ramshot powders, allegedly easy to source. Sorry, should have added that this is for a 70g Nosler BT. I don't mind using a different powder, but I have used H380 since I started reloading many years ago. I worked up a good load to suit my .243 and .22-250, and it's annoying that I will have to start all over again if I can't get H380.

colin lad
Vit and Ramshot are currently the easiest to source. There is a tiny amount of Hodgdon floating around but when some cropped up last week, it was gone in minutes. is hodgdon that scarce as i went to my local supplier to get some h322 and he had a counter full of hodgdon's and seem to think there is no panic yet colin

Redgum
I'm using viht 160 for 243 100gr and 85gr, works well, its a good dependable, easy to measure powder and a place down the road sells it at a very good price, once I run out of varget for the 308 I'm going to go to Viht150 and that should do both calibres, and at a good price. Ps I have an unopened tub of varget and open to extortionate offers. Edited September 29, 2014 by Redgum
oneshot1979
32gr of Vit N160 behind a 100gr SP has always produced ragged bughole groups for me, and nothing I've hit has ever complained. Just recently due to lack of Varget I've started using N540 behind 62gr Barnes varmint grenades with exceptionally good results. I know it's pricey buying it in kilos but at least it's readily available.
kent
I have run 95 and 100 grn bullets in the .243 win on N160 for years. There is nothing to dislike about it in this bullet range
activeviii
Using 150-160 and now 165 as I'm dual loading with it in the 243 and the 6.5 so works ell

rbrowning2
Nice offer, but you can not legally post powder it is an explosive and the Royal Mail will not allow it to be posted. The trade use the courier TNT to deliver it and you need a hazmat approved account with them.
Kes
Sorry then, just a goodwill gesture - obviously goodwill is not practical.
steve_b_wales
Where in Wales are you travelling too? Sorry then, just a goodwill gesture - obviously goodwill is not practical. A kind offer Kes, but sadly not allowed. Thanks anyway.
Alycidon
I only use Vit in all my rounds, good powder that meters well and fairly accurately. Just make sure when changing tubs that you start low and work up. A

Vince Green
I have used Vhit 140 since Noah was in short trousers. Totally happy with it but I will only have one type of Vhit powder on the shelf at a time because of what happened to a friend of mine. The tubs all look too much alike. So I haven't experimented much
