Vitavuori powder

Recommended Posts

Hmm, yes, but I'm no expert. I'm using N150 for my 243 but I'm still in 'load development'. Seems readily available though, unlike some. Another one to try are the Ramshot powders, allegedly easy to source.

Sorry, should have added that this is for a 70g Nosler BT.

I don't mind using a different powder, but I have used H380 since I started reloading many years ago. I worked up a good load to suit my .243 and .22-250, and it's annoying that I will have to start all over again if I can't get H380.

Vit and Ramshot are currently the easiest to source. There is a tiny amount of Hodgdon floating around but when some cropped up last week, it was gone in minutes.

is hodgdon that scarce as i went to my local supplier to get some h322 and he had a counter full of hodgdon's and seem to think there is no panic yet

I'm using viht 160 for 243 100gr and 85gr, works well, its a good dependable, easy to measure powder and a place down the road sells it at a very good price, once I run out of varget for the 308 I'm going to go to Viht150 and that should do both calibres, and at a good price.

Ps I have an unopened tub of varget and open to extortionate offers.

32gr of Vit N160 behind a 100gr SP has always produced ragged bughole groups for me, and nothing I've hit has ever complained. Just recently due to lack of Varget I've started using N540 behind 62gr Barnes varmint grenades with exceptionally good results. I know it's pricey buying it in kilos but at least it's readily available.
