There is a stuffed fox in an antique shop about 60 metres from my house and ive been thinking maybe it would make a good crow decoy?? The owner wants £60 for it and it in good condition... What do you all reckon

pin
Sorry guys what exactly do the crows go mad for the OWL or the rabbit? & more importantly WHY?Do you still use crow deeks as well? turk101 Crows are very territorial and will mob most BOP on sight. You can often see buzzards soaring at 1000ft with 10 crows cawing at them trying to see them off  I have had success with dead bird cradles with dead crows on them, a squirrel split open close to a fence post which had Mr Owl lashed on to it. I use a reed type mouth call to do the assembly call when you see them out at 500yds+ until they come within 200, then tone it down and add disguise with the plam of the hand (so they can't tell exactly where it's coming from). Once they are "on" they will have seen the owl, start giving the distress call (same as the assembly call but much lower volume and pitch with "pleading in it"). Once they are in range stand and shoot, I have also had success calling them back to the gun with the rally or fight call. See if you can get a copy of "eating crow", its yank but its very good - check crowbusters.com

starlight32
You would be better off buying the fox as a display, thats a bargain at 60 quid. I have just had another fox mounted and cased and it costs £200-00 a time and that is with me supplying the fox! starlight32
