lee m
as a lad in the late eighties, i was bought a blue streak for my fourteenth birthday, it seemed to leave anything around then standing as it was pre pcp, i had the rifle right up until 2010 when it finaly gave up the ghost, it was a c series and im told it was built in the late sixties and parts are no longer available, also what ever happened to sharpe innovas are they still being made? Underdog
I too had both back when and miss the sheri. I don't think they are available now. They changed them when Crosman took over. U.
Paul taylor
Ha ha. Had a sharp innova. So many squirrels fell to that rifle, so easy to use after learning to shoot with a HW80 especially as I was so scrawny lol

CaptainBeaky
I still have an Innova in the loft somewhere, awaiting new seals, as it has done for the last 30-odd years I'll get around to it eventually...
lee m
can mr beaky change seals on blue streaks? i just miss the simplicity of it all no dive bottles, air pressure differences per shot and all that things were alot simpler 20 years ago! Paul taylor
Quite a crack yeah, nowt compared to the clack clack clack of pumping it up though. I remember the lack of weight or recoil though after the big springer. Seen them for sale recently but bringing good money. Have an AA s510sl carbine now side lever cocking deadly accurate and quiet holds more than enough air for a trip out in the field, love it, bunnies and magpies hate it 😉
fortune
I've still got one. I bought it From Sussex Armory in Hailsham back early 80's. I also bought the clamp on the barrel scope mount block. When I got it they had modified it to take 8 pumps and give 2 shots out of the one charge but it was rubbish because the two shots weren't the same power so shot to different points on a target. I modified the valve gas flow and the hammer spring and the neck of the internal valve kneck so that it would perform beater. I also made a silencer to fit it as it was so loud on the muzzle report. I made a tool to dismantle the valve system because I had to repair the seal system because of the overloaded power. That thing was so accurate and powerfull that I could consistantly take head shot rabbits out to 60 paces easily. I found that standard round pellets were as good as anything. later times it has been returned to original spec to compy. Somewhere i've also got two original packs of Sheridan pellets which are different to any other pellet.
bruno22rf
Why do this to yourself?-these guns are terrible. I bought a mint one a couple of years back and was so happy when the dealer agreed to take it back. They are not powerfull unless you get an illegal example and accuracy is so outclassed by modern guns-even cheap Turkish delights-that the Blue Streak belongs in the collectors cabinet. Underdog
I disagree, they were very nice to carry. The trigger was easy to tune. The early ones were quality. People expect different things, I have a Turkish delight in .25 and it is amazing once the trigger is done but I would like a blue streak next to it just because. fortune
That thing was so accurate and powerfull that I could consistantly take head shot rabbits out to 60 paces easily. accuracy is so outclassed by modern guns Slight difference of opinion. The only thing that was a pain was the pumping but My one was both powerful and very accurate for knocking over rabbits at evening walk round ranges. A consistantly obtainable head shot at around 60 paces is pretty darn good in my book.
Underdog
Where they also shone was for small pests you could just put a few pumps in!
countryman
Can any one remember back in the 80s Air Gun world one of the writers sons used to shoot an Innova, he would appear in the Mag sometimes with his dad, me and my mate were about 14 at the time and would secretly be jealous of all what he shot, he must have been under 10 at the time. johnbaz
Hi I've a few pumpers.. Sheridan Silver Streak, was just overhauled by the friend of a friend but he used his last seals on it- had to replace the pump rod too as it was bent It shoots superbly now though Also have a Benjamin (Crosman) C9a and a Sharps Innova.. Also have a Sharps Ace too that I bought new from Guns International years back!! Have a couple of Chinese B45-3 multi pumpers too which are still going strong though one had to be stripped and cleaned out as a mate oiled it so much that it wouldn't work!! I have three Sharps Aces that belong to a friend, I'm going to be putting them up for sale for him as his hands are full with an ill mum and a 3yr old daughter to look after John... Underdog
Excellent, how does the Crosman compare to the original one ? I had a B45 but it was a bit weak, are they uppable? U.
johnbaz
Excellent, how does the Crosman compare to the original one ? I had a B45 but it was a bit weak, are they uppable? U. Hi Underdog (Love your ad's by the way!! ) The C9a is every bit as good as the Sheridan but just feels 'tighter' as it's much newer!! The top one of the two B45s i've had for years- I gave it to a mate when he got rats around the bird feeder, it got rid of them!! He then got a pair of Jackdaws dropping twigs down his chimney to build a nest on, he had to stop them as he still had gas fires and the Carbon Monoxide would have been prevented from going out of the fire so he cured that problem with it too!! He brought it back to me when it stopped pumping so I stripped it and could see nothing wrong with the seals apart from being larruped in oil I washed and dried the seals, rebuilt it and presto! It was fine again!! It's very powerful for a .177 Chinese affair!! The other one I acquired recently, for some reason it's hard to pump and for some reason isn't as powerful as the other one!! Chinese guns can be a bit 'hit and miss' build wise!! Cheers, John Edited November 12, 2014 by johnbaz
Underdog
Is it true the c9 has guts similar to other crosmans as in their generic air valve? U.
johnbaz
Is it true the c9 has guts similar to other crosmans as in their generic air valve? U. As far as I know, yes! A mate gave me the Sheridan to scavenge parts for a Benjamin 342 which apparently has the same parts as does the C9 but it was much nicer than the Benjamin so I just sent it off to be resealed and gave away the Benji for parts, The gun lasted around 5 years before it wouldn't pump up! I think my Silver Streak is also a C series I think the earlier Sheridans may have differed in some way slightly though i'm not 100% sure.. Underdog
John, just how well does your silver streak shoot, mine of yesterday year was OK as far as I remember but only tried on pellet type. I have my eye on a blue streak at the moment! U.
