fenboy
I had a invite to Join Muncher and Motty for a flight on the ouse washes today . Things were perhaps a little slower than anticipated but I managed a gadwall a teal and a widgeon , Motty had a Widgeon , he said it was a really good shot as it was quite high , Muncher and I never saw it come down , so I think it was probably sitting in the decoys Muncher managed to scare a few teal but his game bag remained empty As things had gone slow we started to pack up , just as I was about to get the gear on my back , Muncher spotted some Canadas heading our way so Motty and me had a quick fumble for some cartridges , we got loaded up in the nick of time , the geese looked like they were going to come right over us but at the last minute started drifting wide but still in range I managed to get a shot of though and it resulted in my first Canada So once again I am a very happy man tonight , it was also my first goose with my home loads so even better ! Thanks to Muncher and Motty for some good company and Banter.
JDog
Good one Fenboy. You may even try for a pigeon next.
fenboy
Good one Fenboy. You may even try for a pigeon next. With only two very small rape fields between my permissions the pigeons will perhaps have to wait until the peas are drilled in the spring. marsh man
Your wish list is getting smaller now after each flight , you don't want to get them all in one season Fenboy as you wont have anything to look forward to next year. unless you help Big Mat out to put a few in the bag. This has made my day, genuine mistake I'm sure but had me in tears of laughter as I know Fenboy is wanting to replace his Remington with a Hatsan. Did I read somewhere you had a Canada Fenboy ? good for you if you did and well done...did you get more than one shot off with the Hatsan

fenboy
Sod all up with a Hatsan as long as you point it at the right bit they bring the birds down as good as any other make or model There may be nothing wrong with yours , but in my experience plenty of them have problems . When I have walked miles and will maybe get one chance if I am lucky I want a gun in my hands that I can be confident will go bang each time I pull the trigger as far as possible , with the amount of problems I have seen / read about people having with the Hatsans I would not have that confidence. If your happy with yours good luck to you, they are not for me though.
