Well, how was it???? Is there a report, or are all the participants still seeing stars, with the world spinning around inside their heads???

Yesterday (after a horrible helicopter flight!) I spent the day at a partridge shoot on Isle of Wight. We were only 5 guns (225 bird day) and the wind delivered some evil curling birds on occasion! But, I managed to hold my own and we made our bag with a ratio of just under 3:1, so my gang were quite pleased with themselves.

I am looking forward to the reports from Mini Champ and the rest of the gsmg - and some photos too :)

I have several days out next week, so hopefully the rest of the season will miss the heavy rain and winds we are threatened with :)

Happy it all went well :)

Good evening everyone,

I would like to make a request. When you all stop tomorrow for Elevensies and are charging your glasses with a variety of beverages, please would someone propose a toast, to 'all loved ones, who are no longer with us'. It would mean a great deal to me - even of you just say it was done! There is no sentiment better to toast.

Have a great day folks :)

I'm looking forward to the photos and feedback from all involved.

As requested, the Toast

Boy you've got shaky hands!

Wouldn't you if you knew B06 is on a 500 bird day :w00t:

A grand gesture on your part OF.

Very sporting and gentlemanly of you also to wish him well on his personal bag.

Hi Sabs

Bit worried but that's the way of it although

It's mid January all the birds are Wiley 3 to 1 means the keeper has to get 1500 shoot able birds over the 6 guns at a moment when there loaded 😊

And we all know how hard it is to get the expected bag this time of year

So realistic figure would be 300 a awesome day for 6 guns

Build in tomorrow's weather and I will think the team would do well to get 45 each 😊

It's just my way of looking at it

Down side 500 bird day good peg 100 to his own gun

Well orchid will have a very good week

All the best

Good evening all,

I don't want to scare OF, but this is the same shoot where I once accounted for 135 pheasants to my own gun, at the end of January in 2010!!! And, it was driven to single guns, not doubles. As a big commercial shoot, they shoot 7 days a week for a lot of the season - they have 'duck only' days on Sundays.

We will only shoot sporting targets, but as a team who have shot together for more than 10 seasons now, we have become reasonable at racking up the numbers on occasion ;)

Sleep well OF :):):):):):)

I will update everyone tomorrow.
