Dyl003
Starting out and need to get a basic setup of decoys. I'm looking at either these flocked: http://www.a1decoy.co.uk/flocked-pigeon-decoy-shell-90-p.asp Or these HD: http://www.a1decoy.co.uk/plastic-pigeon-shell-decoys-hd-802-p.asp I fancied flocked as I thought there would be less reflection, but the one in the picture doesn't look that good! Any recommendations? And can you mix types in your pattern? For example could I put out 6 FUDs with 10 shell decoys? I hear A1 offer a discount to PW members…anyone know the code? deny essex
As long as the flock is of quality and does not rub off flock is my choice ( I have not used the ones to your link so cant comment on them ) , non reflect and if rained on a quick shake if needed and they are dry, the hd will do the same job but will shine if they get wet until dried off with a cloth or wind dried, yes you can mix decoys of different types. Not used the company so no idea about code.
mick miller
Honestly, I don't think it matters. I decoyed birds successfully all afternoon with simple plastic half shells and a cheaper than cheap rotary from A1 decoy. I didn't even bother pegging them, simply laid them on the crop and sat back in the hide. If it's raining it may make a difference, but I wouldn't know, as when it's raining I do something else! It's funny, HD seems to be the new term for non flocked.
TIGHTCHOKE
It's funny, HD seems to be the new term for non flocked. I do believe all the old Sportplast shell decoys in my garage are now HIGH DEFINITION!
Rst1990
This is the discount code PWM2014, it will take 5% off the price. They also sell on eBay and cheaper than what they are on their website site even after you put the code in lol

Bobba
Starting out and need to get a basic setup of decoys. I'm looking at either these flocked: http://www.a1decoy.co.uk/flocked-pigeon-decoy-shell-90-p.asp Described as ultra realistic! That's advertising exaggeration for you. They are almost silver grey and look nothing like the colours of any wood pigeon I have ever shot. A mate bought some similar ones and from a distance they looked almost white and unreal. A quick repainted was required.
bakerboy
Nothing wrong with A1 decoys. I prefer the flock decoys but mix and match to give varying colour in the pattern is not a bad thing. Sometimes we over think things. We would be grateful if anybody who has repainted our decoys to send us a few photo's, as any info on how we can update designs in the future is much appreciated. Thanks Oscar
