Scully
May be building a Passivhaus in Findhorn this summer, anything worth looking at while we're there? Someone told me it's a hippy commune so there's plenty of money about, but is there much point me taking my guns for a spot of clayshooting? grrclark
It is a nice part of the world, I believe on average it is the sunniest place in Scotland. There is a Clay ground in Cawdor which is fairly close, http://www.cawdorclaypigeonclub.co.uk/ There is also a rifle and gun club in Cawdor http://www.cawdorrifleandgunclub.co.uk/index.html I don't know if they are connected and I have never been, but worth dropping them an email maybe. wymberley
Many happy memories of mornings out. Mind you, I'd still like to find the ******* who stole our boat that the RAF Lossiemouth 'fowling contingent made.
Scully
Many thanks all. Will have a look at shooting links grrclark, so thanks for that. One of the lads is taking his rods and another his bicycle. It may be worth taking metal detector too.

novice cushie shooter
Rothiemurchus is just down at aviemore too. Great layout for clay shooting. Plenty good fishing too in either river or all the small lochs around.
big bad lindz
Rothiemurchus is just down at aviemore too. Great layout for clay shooting. Plenty good fishing too in either river or all the small lochs around. I would agree with Rothimurchus great sporting layouts and a good test for all. Depending on how far you would like to travel, Deephaven near Alness has mainly DTL & Trap set up but it also has a Skeet & compact sporting lay out. There is also Loch Ness which I think is only Trap & DTL. As also mentioned Cawdor is also worth a visit.
