Zetter
Hi All I have just purchased on of these and have seen from several sources that they are really good. Does anyone have any tips on how to use them as at the moment mine seems very high pitched and sounds more like a sick duck than a crow! Ollieollie
Get out for a practice, you'll know when you've got it right! they do work a treat
Suffolkngood
Never used one myself but I believe you don't blow it but kind of Grrrrr through it and by biting on mouthpiece you can change pitch. I'm sure someone will be along in a bit to tell you firsthand.

BUT, the Primos Power Crow caller can do everything, and more, than the Sam Neyt. For example, the SN one cannot replicate Jackdaw sounds. Many people buy a Primos caller and give up too soon (even after 'tons of trying' ) which is a shame because it is the best caller in my opinion. I have used them for many years and have had successful outings when using it. I can call in Crows, Jackdaws, Rooks and even Seagulls (just to prove I could do it, but not to shoot them)
steve_b_wales
Get out for a practice, you'll know when you've got it right! they do work a treat They certainly do. Correct. Try making a 'grrrr' sound to get that 'raspy' tone needed to call them in. Also, by biting down on the mouthpiece, and blowing into the caller in short sharp breaths, you can produce a very effective Jackdaw call which produces excellent results. Grandalf
Primos is prima in my view.
WelshMike
I bought a primos power crow caller and gave up after not enough practice. After the reviews on this forum I went back to it and tried a bit more and have had good results. As Steve B says try a good "grrrr" as this seems to work well. Keep practising and you will get good results.
mick miller
I tried, and failed. Bought the Sam Neyt and it was calling in rooks and crows within an hour. I guess it's whatever works for you.
Grandalf
Our resident buzzards seem to like it too... God they do try the patience somewhat when they drift over your head about half a gun shot high.
Scully
I've been using a Primos for a couple of years snow and think they're a great bit of kit. I can call trains in with mine also.
steve_b_wales
I actually bought a Sam Neyt caller, after hearing and reading all the hype about it. After trying it once, I then went and sold it. Don't get me wrong, it works well, but the retail price was, and still is, ridiculous. I can get three Primos callers for one Sam Neyt. But, as has been mentioned, if it works for you, then its money well spent.
