Baikal MP-153 if you don't want to worry about getting it scratched. Beretta is a lovely gun, have fired one a few times. Benelli is another lovely gun although there's a lot more of a kick off them being recoil operated rather than gas operated, IMO.

I have had both beretta & benelli. I sold them beretta as i did not like it, it's harder to clean it has more recoil & I just could'nt get on with it. :( (although many people swear by them) I WOULD NOT SWAP OR SELL MY BELOVED BENELLI SUPER 90 FOR ANY OTHER GUN. :( :good: it is a absolutely superb all round gun. :(

This is only my opinion though. hope this helps. :(

i have a raptor, an MP153 and a 302. If I had to have one in the jungle it would be the MP153. When I first got it is tripped it down and once put back together i was left with a thick washer and a pin. 200 shots later i stripped it down and put them back in. 40000 shots and counting and never a problem.

I've got the Remington spr 453, Its basically a re badged Baikal and its been faultless. Its had over a thousand rounds through it and I've never had 1 jam and it fires as fast as you can pull the trigger. Its cheap and cheerful but its that dependable i can see it occupying my cabinet for years to come. After all they cant be bad if Remington put there name on them. I would recomend this gun to anybody :good:

There has been no mention of cost when buying a new auto in the previous threads. Value for money has to be the escort synthetic for 350 quid if want an economical hard wearing auto, although I will admit I am going to the other end of the extreme cos I have ordered a Benelli m2 field in advantage timber.

I have give my escort a lot of stick, wildfowling, pigeon shooting etc, have cycled everything through it from 28 gram through to 63g with no problems.

My local gunshop cannot get enough of these escorts as there is a waiting list.

Thanks guys, a lot of mixed opinions. The one that realy fits me is the SBE2 (looks :good: great too). my only concern is its ability to cycle with all size cartridges. Im looking at this being a complete all-rounder from fox to goose to pheasent to the odd afternoon of clays with the cheapest cartridge i can find. Does anyone have any oppinions/experiances???

Got a Beretta Xtrema 3.5" and have used it for clays ruff and wildfowling and the only thing I find against it is its length. I got 28" barrels but find that with the extra long action its a bit too big a gun for the fast driven clays, but cant fault it for the wildfowling and duck flighting.

Tried a few differnet ones when I got this one but found the Escorts a bit short (beleive newer nes are a bit longer now) and the Baikel a bit unbalance and front heavy for me.

Just my 2p worth
