welshwarrior
Get f1 Any reason why?
Livefast123
I've only used a friends F1 but found it easy to use and seemed to be accurate given the publishec load data.
wymberley
For a tad more fa-loose you can get a ProChrono 'pal'. I've had mine for well over 5 years, it's worked perfectly and it does what it says on the box which is everything that I need. As ever, you pays your money and takes your choice. Dougy
I think any of the Chrony make are OK from £99 to £150 ish. Just make sure they are fully folded out or you will get false readings, you will see higher velocity if the sensors are closer. I think I have the Alpha, that was £99 in the olden days. sixhills 69
I have the Caldwell ballistic precision chronograph cost £130 I downloaded the iPhone app it comes with a cable to plug into iphone or andriod laptop or tablet. You can save all your data select bullet weight and manufacturer which all can be saved or printed and it will give you an overall avarage. Nice bit of kit and lightweight
subsonicnat
As stated Welshwarrior F1. As you, I believe, if my memory serves me right, would get good service from this one. you can add a printer to it. So would be very good for your FILES. For later Reference. snow white
If using for airgun or shotgun make a steel bracket to fit in front of screen to save it if using centre fire and you hit it.buy another one

Dekers
Cheers guys looks like the F3 is the winner. Of the 2 you originally mention I have only used the F1, I don't own it, a pal has one, and I've used it over a number of years, always seems to have proved reliable and useful. And despite using if for downrange testing several times at 100yards and a handful of times at 200 yards it is still in one piece! Edit F3? Dekers
Yes have used with both, originally first used to tune subsonic loads for Hushpower. So, how does the energy tail off at say 30-40 yards with a shotgun?
welshwarrior
I think I'll order the F1 then. Cheers guys.
Rascal
If you can afford a bit extra take a look at the magnetospeed. I have been using one for about a year now, and what a simple piece of kit use. just 2 minutes to set up the bayonet on the end of the barrel, plug it the cable and away you go. No messing around, and it is a lot harder to shoot by accident!

Rem223
I have had a Chrony for several years. They work pretty well as long as they are fully opened. What I recommend though is you don't lend it to any "mates" as they are quite easy to shoot if your "mate" is ham fisted putz. Fortunately it was only an air rifle and only clipped the rear sensor, but to avoid possibly falling out with your friends its best to not lend them out
