bullet1747
Just been reading a thread about storage, always wondered why we have to keep bullets locked and only allowed a certain amount, but yet we can have shells and don't need them under lock and key

snow white
Why put expanding rounds on ticket when none expanding you don't ruddy silly you can buy primers and powder which explode bullets don't

robbiep
Why put expanding rounds on ticket when none expanding you don't ruddy silly you can buy primers and powder which explode bullets don't And then you have A-max bullets. Which expand. But slightly less than V-max. And because Hornady say that they are designed for target use, then you can use them on military ranges. Which do not allow expanding bullets. The law on expanding bullets really does seem to be a bit of a bodge.
Westley
Why are you allowed to possess shotgun ammo without a cerificate ?
robbiep
Why are you allowed to possess shotgun ammo without a cerificate ? Because the law is set up that way. Another quirk of the law is that you can ask your wife or a friend to go and pick up shotgun cartridges for you from a shop, and as long as they have YOUR certificate and a letter from you authorising them to pick them up, it is entirely legal. Scully
Why is a moderator classed as a firearm? Why are some shotguns classed as firearms and some as shotguns? Why are CF carbines allowed but CF handguns not? Why can't 1 for 1 variations be dealt with via a RFD? Why is .223 Roe legal in Scotland but not in England? Why do my bin men refuse to pick up more than 4 rubbish bags from outside my house unless I give prior notice to head office first, yet will collect perhaps 15 or more piled into a heap by householders just two streets away? But your sub-12 air rifle would still need to be kept securely where he could not get hold of it !

Wot , never new that , so the two licences the police lost of mine in the post could be being used for carts for some thugs
