The 13th May is the traditional date in some parts of the country to shoot branchers. I cringe now at the thought of the hundreds I shot using a .22. Not all of the shots were successful. Where the other bullets ended up God only knows.

always liked the look of those old rook rifles as a kid. but god knows where the rounds were going as you said lol

What`s a brancher?

 

Young rooks leave the nest and venture out onto the branches. They then practice flying by flapping their wings but at this stage they are unable to fly and make relatively easy 'sitting' targets.
