wildfowler.250
I had a very good September last season. I suppose "pretty rubbish" is a bit vague. I had a decent September but I much prefer it later on when the ducks are a bit more feathered up, the weather is a bit cooler and there are more migratory birds in. Saying that, I haven't missed opening day in years!
jayDT10
Some years I shoot the 1st other years I'll just sit with my dog and a watch the flight gunless. It all depends on how late I see ducklings. Just out of interest what the latest people have seen duckling
anser2
Mid December is the latest I have seen mallard ducklings on a local village pond. I used to do a lot of duck ringing and in mild winters had to stop frequently at the end of January after finding fresh duck eggs in the trap. marsh man
its soon going to be hear cant wait only one thing i want to do this season is to get a shot an kill a pink If you go enough you should succeed on your first wish ( get a shot ) , that's the easy bit , now the hard bit is to kill a pink , the only advice I can give is try and put yourself in the right place at the right time then the rest is up to you . Grandalf
I guess they just like the control aspect and making you sweat. It is not the most brilliant of wildfowling but it is fairly easily accessible for an oldun like me - So that makes it very important to me. Worth the effort.
