Underdog
Been after this raiding fox for months. He gets in the chicken range and helps himself every afternoon. Today I parked inside the range and did not have to wait long, in a flash he fanged a bird and was returning when my hurried shot missed. He dropped the bird ran another 30yds and stopped to look back, his last mistake! A worthy adversary this chap was! Four foxes I shot today, three adult dogs and one dog cub but I don't upload everything I photo! I was sneaking up on a cuckoo when a pheasant in the wood announced the presence of another fox. A few moments later I was ready stood next to a tree and I squealed like a good'n. without having time to zoom the scope down he came charging in down to 7yds! Took the tail for my muzzleloader bag. Took home a nice buck rabbit to cook, nothing special about that I hear you say. But for this old rifle shot it was a great shot! 167strides, proper strides and all but a yard a stride, off hand too. No sticks, no bipods and no nothing. I was trying for its head but got shoulders. U. Edited May 30, 2015 by Underdog

maxwell
Ha, the fatal look back has been the demise of many a fox, for such a clever animal they do have their flaws, well done.
