Rifle ranges

Sorry if this has been covered folks.

I'm looking for decent rifle ranges that have ranges of 200m plus. And also ones that will take a larger calibre. I'm shooting .30-06

I've heard of Orion and wms ranges but those are guided and will cost 100+ per visit.

Just after the typical style turn up, pay and set up on a bench type deal.

Thanks in advance.

Which club you at for Sealand ? I'm a member of Valley for Corwen, who no longer bother with Sealand, and shoot I with Phoenix at Sealand as probationary/visitor, due to their membership being full. Occasionally we get knocked off by the MOD, but not that often.

You can come down to Phoenix and shoot as a visitor, you'd need to be under 1-to-1 instruction unless you've got a current MOD CoC, but the range fee as probationary/visitor is £4, compared to £3 for full members (that or £5 and £4, I can't remember).

Phoenix are shooting on the 100m 'A' range tomorrow, if you wanted to go and see what it's like there. You will be expected to do a duty (butts or lookout) on the day too, as a few people were turning up, shooting and then vanishing.

I used to be valley back a few years ago. But corwen doesn't require a club to go so I'm currently clubless. I have permissions that you can get up to 400-500 but noise of constant shooting can be an issue and also livestock etc.

Fister - what's the Diggle club like?

:lol::lol::lol: ya Plonka :lol:

I think you miss-understood Dougy - so the only plonker is you - we shoot out to 3500yds which is further than the capability of his 30:06.

Incidentally so far this year we have had over 40 bookings on MOD ranges, we have lost 4 days to cancellations so far. (2 at Warcop , 1 at Warminster and 1 at Lydd - none at Sennybridge)

No I didnt misunderstand MiLisCer. I fully understood. and am fully aware of your capabilities with the 50 cal, and you are a member of the 50 UK team.

Maybe I should have kept the chuckle to myself. I just saw the funny side of your post, as JackD was asking for over 200 yard shooting range, then you mention you shoot out to 3,500.

"Ya Plonka " was not intended as an insult at all, more like, I thought you were having a moment of happiness and being funny as in laughing.

Anyway JackD If your near Diggle you should get up there, a lovely place and friendly people too. :good: I only wish it was closer to me, as its some trek up there.

Dougy.

I still think you are missing the point.

We book over 60 days on MOD ranges a year.

From gallery ranges out to 600 yards suitable for all calibres to FFA'S out to 3000+.

All the ranges are suitable for his 30.06 and there will be targets at all bookings in excess of his required 200 yards.

As a club we cater for all calibres not just 50bmg.

His nearest bookings we use would be Sennybridge (we book 4 ranges here depending on availability from the 350 yard pure ETR range, 1000 metre gallery range to FFA'S ) and Kingsbury in the Midlands which is a 600m gallery range. We shoot there most Tuesday evenings during the summer and a couple of Sundays a month too.

So we have plenty of ranges available that would suit his needs.

If you mean as per FAC conditions, then yes. The ranges are owned by an association (club), affiliated with the NRA, but shooting on a private range, much as we do at Wern Ddu.

Hi Rob. Yes that is what I mean. Something like our club but with longer ranges to try. Thanks. Darran.
