TheLurchmeister
Hi Guys,My shotgun cabinet is currently kept at my dads house as my mom disagrees with me having one in our home for some stupid reason. I'm off for an early shoot next week and wont be able to get my gun from the cabinet at such time.So... Is there any legal ways I can keep the gun at my home away from the cabinet over night? Broken into 2 and kept close to my bed over night, maybe? Any help is great, cheers.
Duckandswing
It has to be kept secure to the extent that it couldn't be used by an intruder. Split it up. Fore-end in one room. Action ideally secured to secure part of the room I.e. Radiator. Barrel in the car. That's what I do anyway.
MrDaveO84
You'll be fine mate. I travel and stay in hotels with my shotguns and rifles all the time. Just be sensible with security ie keep the forend in your glovebox in the car and the barrels and action in a slip or locked case with you in your room. Obviously if your doing it all the time you should really have a cabinet at your mums
Old farrier
Locked travel /moter case and forend separate should show Adequate security measures have been taken Just run it by your mum she may not like guns in the house All the best Of

eddoakley
If the gun is with you it is "secure" If you had a nap in the car while out shooting would the gun be secure? Of course it would! If you left your cabinet open while you were in the house is the gun secure? Of course it is. Be sensible. Be over the top if you want to by locking the forend/stock/barrels in a seperate place if you feel the need. BUT it is your responsibility to make sure the gun is secure NOT to make sure it is locked up. The interpretation of that may vary so be careful but basically if you have the gun with you it is secure. I dont think you need to worry too much.
