Underdog
I love fog, it's great for getting close to crows and picking them off. Later and after some time with our grandchild I headed out again for a couple of rabbit. I took Jess, the dog with no idea, to try and get her interested. She likes rabbit when I am preparing one but had not made the link with them things in the field! Well today walking into the wind she twigged and when one ran in wanted to go and was pulling on the lead. I shot one and as it wriggled and flopped showed it jess from some distance and let her go. She was straight on it! A huge improvement. She is flaked out in front of the fire right now. She touch an e fence earlier too , thought it was going to ruin things again but she came to me for comfort. It would be nice if she could catch in the lamp one day! U. lurchers
What is she beddiexgreyhound or beddiexwhippet nice bitch, now she has had a taste of that one and you think she is confident at keeping hold of one.you can start taking her out on the lamp but do pick your rabbits for her to run by this I mean get right on top of them if you can so she will see it run, once she sees it slip her and hopefully she will be keen for it mate.just take your time with her as Rome wasn't built in a day and you will have some good times with her.plus you can train her into the gun to for retrieving your birds or squirrels for you as they do mate gun dogs to.how old is she by the way. lurchers
Just don't give her hard slips at first as the beddiexwhippet have a thing for yapping while chasing, that's why I said pick your runs but they are normally mad keen for it anyway that's why I asked her age.atb

JDog
I am pleased that your dog is showing interest. As Lurchers says take it easy with her. 'Too much too soon' is not the way to go.
m greeny
Some years ago i travelled over 100 miles to get a 10 month old beddy lurcher cross. when i got there my head told me to turn and walk away but my heart wouldnt let me as it was in an awful state, anyway i brought her home very late at night and the very next day a good friend of mine came round to see her and we went for a walk ( on the lead) and when we went through a field of fiesty young bullocks she pulled and slipped her collar and made off in to the distance and that was the last i saw of her. I searched high and low day in day out with the help of many friends and after nearly a week i had given up all hope of ever seeing her again. Well after 10 days i was just about to climb in to bed and there was a knock at the door at midnight and a bloke said i think theres some body thats looking for you and yes you guessed it there she was and the minute i shouted her she came bounding up the street as though she had lived there all her life. How the hell did she remember to come to my door after all she had only been walked from my house once before. Love her UD and she will give you years of unconditionable love and devotion.
