eccles
Weather been awful here for what seems like weeks. Dried up yesterday late afternoon but very windy. Said to other half might go later for a 1/2 hour. Went to get gear ready went out through door blinking blowing a gale. Mrs said go your getting soft all right for her sat watching tv Drove up lane about 7.30 to pull in got out wind was howling up there had to hold on to tailgate or it would have ripped it off . Thought to myself do i walk up there or not decide to go anyway. Walked diagonally up hill well blown up hill more like nothing to be seen going up. Over to other side of hill little better but not much. Had a quick lamp around other valley spotted a eye at bottom, dropped the legs on pod on with Archer was a fox mousing around. Had crosshairs on him wind across blowing rifle a fair bit waited for a lull in wind and let fly down it went. Walked down to pick it up nice dog. Walked back way i came lamping now and again no calling nothing so home,my pom pom hate blew off 3 times shows how windy it was. Nice to be out for a walk even in that weather. tonker
I don't think you can beat a good blow, (behave) it takes any noise you make away, and always seems to work in our favour, levels the playing field as it were. I very often just go out for a walk in the night, if it's blowing a hoolie, (love the wind). Nicely done on the fox, did you have to allow much or was it close?
