inderraj
Hey guys, As the title suggests, I've currently got a Silver Pigeon 1, but was looking to trade it in for a Cynergy in synthetic. The gun will be used for clays only, which of the two would you guys recommend. Which has a better build quality etc. I've shot them both and I Like them equally as much. Many thanks
bruno22rf
That's easy to answer-get a 525 or a Miroku-the build quality of some Silver pigeons beggars belief and the Cynergy's that I have come across all seem to have niggly little faults like the forend constantly shooting loose. Breastman
I've shot a Cynergy Black Ice for 8 years and have had zero issues with it and its still as tight now as when i first got it, must have at least 12,000 carts through it. I know its a marmite gun looks wise but that doesn't seem to be an issue for you. Bit of an odd comparison though, ones ultra modern and synthetic, and the other is as traditional looking as they come!
Scully
I believe the cynergy was designed as a dedicated clay gun, which could be a deciding factor.
Breastman
Well its a 'sporter' style gun but that doesn't mean it can't be used for other things. I've taken mine on driven days and used if for pigeons dozens of times
timps
The Cynergy had a less than an auspicious start in the UK, I know a couple of gun dealers in the north west that would not take them in part exchange a couple of years back. It's not exactly a popular gun for whatever reason and you don't tend to see them in great numbers at the registered clay shoots I go too. I am not going to criticise the gun as I haven't owned one and I know one shooter who does like his. However I did feel sorry for the poor bloke who had bought one, didn't get on with it and was trying to px it for something else only to be told by two dealers they didn't want it for any price. So just be mindful if you end up wanting to upgrade or just fall out with the gun at some point in the future it might be a lot harder to shift than a Silver Pigeon, this was certainly the case in the north west. markm
I have a 28g cynergy field. Love the gun and it is not a clay buster. Not a single problem with it.
Harry136
I have the Cynergy Pro Trap grade 6 and its a lovely gun to shoot, took a bit of time to set up but now its lovely. I have heard a couple of years ago that people were having problems with the rubber on the synthetic cynergys, which is what put me off them, that and the recoil pad shape. Breastman
That was a load of tosh made up by 'traditionalist' who just didn't like the gun. I've given up looking for one documented instance where the grip pads "dropped to pieces" etc. Yes mine a re slightly worn after 8 years but when they first came out the urban (rural) legend was that they literally disintegrated after holding the gun for more than a minute
Harry136
I was going to buy one, but the shape of the recoil pad just put me off in the end.
dougall
if it is only equally nice why change? SP a solid/good gun...whilst a miroku/brwoning man I would'nt change for a cynergy....ugly to my eye

Wiggum
I had a black ice and loved it although it did suffer with wear on the on the rubber palm swell. I would have another but it would be the wooden stocked version
billytheghillie
Today I picked up my new B525 Game One 28in barrels,12b, and the quality of the wood and the metalwork are outstanding. This gun just oozes quality. Looked at the silver pig, but to me they felt as if quality has went down hill. I traded in a Beretta 686e for the 525. Cant wait to try it out. Will be used for game and clays.
inderraj
if it is only equally nice why change? SP a solid/good gun...whilst a miroku/brwoning man I would'nt change for a cynergy....ugly to my eye The primary reason for the change is My Location. Im based near the sea, and it rains a lot. All that salt water and salty air wreaks havoc on my nice wood stock, so i thought id try a change
