PhilR
I've had good and bad experiences with them. I've recently moved to Northants and discovered that all the notications I'd sent to TVP regarding sales and purchases also requesting the details of the guns be to mirrored on my wife's SGC/EFP had been ignored in the last couple of years. We share a cabinet and it's sensible to have them on both. They've reduced the number of FEOs by 50% recently and I think they're stretched to breaking point, never had a problem with the several FEOs I'd had in 20 years. Sadly I'd have to give them a poor marking.
Vince Green
I ran a club for many years where a fair number of our members came under TV and historically they were always much more difficult to deal with than Herts or the Met
bruno22rf
Over worked and under manned-but a good bunch to deal with despite being in meltdown.
Zetter
When I first got my FAC and SGC a couple of years ago the turn around was great got my FAC and SGC sorted on initial grant within a month and variations were two weeks. Trouble is as has been said above they have cut staff and it has shown. Someone I know from the local RFDs put in for his FAC and it was 8 months for the grant, although last year was a peak renewals year. But to be honest I get the feeling they have fallen so far behind now that with the staff cuts they will never catch up. I put my variation in yesterday and am not holding out any hope that it will be faster than a couple of months minimum. trickyh
I think it's also been made harder for them after they were forced into temp accommodation after a leaking air con unit wrecked their permanent offices. They sent me letters 20 weeks before renewal to get my forms and payment in. I think it's been 12 weeks so far and heard nothing and both tickets run out in march :(
oxfordfowler
Applied for my SCG renewal in August 2015 it ran out in January 2016. Still no contact with FEO - following exchange of emails I did get a Temp cert which covers the next 6 months.
Royal22lr
It's dire and not going to get better any time soon. Workload is massive, no recognition, solutions from senior management none existent. It's not the FEOs or support staff its all about budgets. Tried talking with MP Dr Lee nothing, no acknowledgement, PCC 'will look into it " when? Funny how they cash the cheques ASAP they must be earning a few pounds a week in interest, yet takes 28 weeks plus to get your certificate Rating 3/10 must try a lot harder. Royal 22lr I was under TV for initial issue of FAC and SGC and got both back within 4 weeks (that was 15 years ago though ) I'm now under Hampshire, last renewal 5 years back took them 18-20 weeks if I remember rightly, ive just had my SGC renewed and was surprised to get it back in about 10 weeks BB Edited February 4, 2016 by Bluebarrels
Dekers
I have had my moments with TV over the years, and a short while back they suffered a flood, Lord knows how, but I assume a burst pipe. They seem a decent lot, but I am certainly not giving them a resounding pat on the back.
