Dave-G
Just seen a link to these on FB, they look a great idea for a diy chap. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FoxHunter-Vehicle-Car-Ramp-Lift-2-Ton-Hydraulic-Jack-Garage-Heavy-Duty-Red-x-2-/131502329000
Les*1066
Definitely one of those "Why didn't I think of that?" ideas.
figgy
Good idea with built in axle stands both sides of the bottle jack to pin through and it should be safe as can be.
casts_by_fly
Not sure I understand the benefit. The jack gives you an extra 4" of travel. If I am going to put it on jack stands, I am going to use stands that give me enough room to get under the car. An extra 4" of adjustment isn't going to make or break it if I have enough stand in the first place. If you need to change/remove a tire or something under a tire you're not using a jack stand in the first place. Sure this stand is a little more compact than one that gives you the extra 4" height built in, but you're still storing a big hunk of metal (2 of them actually). I think this is something with a lot of appeal on paper that doesn't offer much real world benefit. thanks, rick
Luckyshot
I've a pair of these and they are great for times when there is a vehicle on the ramp and you need good access under another vehicle.

wigeon jim
Why not just use higher ramps!
Dave-G
Why not just use higher ramps! The high part of higher ramps fouls low front skirts as you approach them.
casts_by_fly
The high part of higher ramps fouls low front skirts as you approach them. You're supposed to drive in from the low ramp side, not the square front... rick
Dave-G
You're supposed to drive in from the low ramp side, not the square front... rick Yes lol, depends on how low the skirt is - and how far the front wheels are behind it. Lord Geordie
I used to slip a 3" thick beam under the car and jack that to give extra clearance! Then slip another beam over the 2 axle stands to support the car! Works wonders!
jonny thomas
There's nothing like chasing a set of ramps down the drive
