Double barrelled 22?

Churchill made a few also saw a .22 eight barrelled volly gun in auction a few years ago

Always fancied one sadly Churchill was a lot of money

Been toy with the idea of a double 22 hornet, think it would be a lot of fun.

Baikal did do a double barereled side by side in 222 if i remember rightly, they did them in bigger callibres to up to 4570, but never seen a 22lr would be interesting but not sure i would ever need one, other than as a curio.

There's some nice little SXS 410's about. How about a .22 liner down the existing barrels? Yes, I know you would need to off-set the chamber or play about with the firing pin but not too difficult I would have thought - There's plenty of chamber adapters about. Just do one barrel 410/.22 sounds like fun.

It was the thought of a dainty 22sxs about 27" barrels and express leaf sights and a fine blade front sight that got my juices going :-)

I seem to remember when I taught Air Cadets shooting that there was a .22lr adapter for the 5.56 L98 (manual version of L81) which was essentially a dummy 5.56 cartridge with a 22lr chamber. maybe available for .222?

Could you not drop drilling a into a .410 and have best of both.

I've been toying with buliding a 22 hornet on a 410 action, something like the Yildiz could work well. A hornet has a few advantages as I see it.

CF pins on 410 don't need conversion to RF

Nice rim for ecjection compared too 223 etc

Easy get ammo

Can be reloaded to maintain regulation of barrels.

22 hornet is old school there for cool.

Thanks this has been on my projects list for 4-5 years now. I'll get around to it soon, 1/2 through a 308 Mauser twin to my 375 only get chance to do one at a time slowly at that but it's a long project list!!
