Bear1cat
I have just found out one of my permissions will be growing Lupins. I have done a search to find out what I can expect shooting wise over this but haven't found much info. Anyone here know what I can expect on this and at what times? Bear1cat
I believe it's being grown for feed as the farm produces animal feed.
pigeon controller
I've shot over lupins in the past. From what I can remember we shot them when they were in flower as well as when they were dropping seed. It was a bit like shooting standing beans, just keep your eye on them. The Mighty Prawn
And for any Monty Python fans - watch out for Dennis Moore galloping through the sword, with his horse Concorde, for he has his eyes on your Lupins
colin.y
Lupins are being grown as a substitute for soya and this year with high world soya prices lupins are justifiable. Very high protein animal feed. From what info I have found and seen treat like peas for shooting purposes . We are also growing about 20 hectares this year for the first time. Keep us posted on any activity.

Penelope
As soon as I saw this thread I though of putting a youtube link of that up. pickerup
a farmer asked me to shoot over a field of lupins a few years ago, at the end of the day picked up 127 so you may have some good shooting later on.
colin.y
Lupins drilled 2 days ago here. had some left so put a few on top as free offerings! was hoping for a day at them this weekend BUT! seen about 15 pigeons over 2 fields. very little feeding activity out of them either. will keep watching them closely.
