often best to have separate.depends upon type of house/post code/named items/excesses etc etc...go on comparison sites as starter and READ the small print.If one policy looks very cheap there will be a reason.........if you cannot be bothered to read the small print google independent insurance broker and get them to do the work.atb.

its worth spending half an hour on price comparison sites , i was paying lloyds tsb over £1,000 per year(i had been doing for years) , im hopeless when it comes to things like this and i just thought that everyone paid the same , my good lady took over and i now pay less than £200 per year for the same cover , we also do the price comparison thing with car insurance now , i just didnt realise that direct line had been having my pants down for years.
