saddler
Haha....that's a new one 100% BS He'd be not wrong in some US states.....but way off for UK law Next time you're in ask him to show you written evidence of them needing to be "tied" to one rifle... Cannon
There may be some merit in what the dealer has said. Over here we have to have moderators paired with rifles and air rifles. We cannot simply chop and change them as we see fit. The wording on our licences states that a moderator, serial number NONE, can only be used with such and such a rifle. Given the fact that there are no serial numbers used for them over here yet (perhaps they are used for CF mods), there's no reason as to why you cannot have 3 rifles and one moderator. Providing the moderator isn't expressly linked to one of those rifles via serial number or another means. You would of course need all 3 rifles to have written permission stating that a mod could be used on them. steve_b_wales
I wanted to use my .308 moderator (no serial number) on my .243 and was told by the police that it's not allowed.
r1steele
I wanted to use my .308 moderator (no serial number) on my .243 and was told by the police that it's not allowed. As often happens they are wrong.
activeviii
they are just slots on your ticket. you can take out and use what you like and where you like as long as you have the permissions and clearances. I use to run .222, .243. 6.5x55 and 308. all with the one pez/mae moderator, i put it to Gloucester firearms licencing and they agreed. not a problem,
Bewsher500
idiots the lot of them get the mod details opened up (it should not say "to be used with X calibre") I have one mod that has been on 6 barrels from 17-.
rjimmer
You can walk into a shop and buy a Parker Hale .22 moderator for an air rifle and it will have the same thread as your .22rf.
fortune
I wanted to use my .308 moderator (no serial number) on my .243 and was told by the police that it's not allowed. Why? another case of make it up as you go along.
Dekers
I wanted to use my .308 moderator (no serial number) on my .243 and was told by the police that it's not allowed. If you have the Moderator slots in place for the .243 and .308 there is no issue moving the .308 mod to the .243. ATB!
