Guest
Following on from my thread about knock about guns, anyone had any experience with these? a gun for a bit of decoying, and chucking in the back of the landrover for those nitty gritty pest controlling days. Fabhui
Had one for a couple of years now and can't fault it.
Duckandswing
Mine has been bomb proof. I've shot thousands through it this last year and yet to clean it.
Guest
Oh no, just found this though. 😐 http://www.outdoorhub.com/news/2015/04/21/viral-video-quickly-leads-winchester-sxp-shotgun-recall/
Duckandswing
The recall was for the 3.5 inch chambered one. Mine is just the 3. New ones are sorted.
Caravanman
Bought a 3.5 inch version after the recall. Great gun, no complaints. It's my first choice for most of my shooting.

Yellow Bear
Except no shims - The stock is "straight" - no good for the broad shouldered as no "cast off" possible as far as I know.
Guest
Anyone got any opinions on the SX3? I've heard it directly compared to the Maxus Edited May 24, 2016 by Guest
brett1985
Recently sold my sx3 and kind of regret it if I'm honest. Cracking gun for the money, although I found it a little short in the stock.
Longbower
Great Gun the SXP, just a little short on the LOP for me , otherwise faultless!
Guest
Great Gun the SXP, just a little short on the LOP for me , otherwise faultless! Can't be adjusted?
Longbower
I added a ' boot' type of extension that gave it an extra inch, that sort of worked , but then my friend was selling his old Stevens 20g pump. which just suits/fits me and the SXP went . I Still regard them highly though.
Caravanman
I'm 6ft and 15 stone. Gun fits me nicely.
kennett
I've got the 3.5 one for use on the Marsh, pigeon hide and truck and can't fault it. Never missed a beat and can be washed in the shower!
keg
+1, never had a problem with other than remembering to pump the first few times i used it clay bashing.
ShootingEgg
I have had an sxp and traded it for the sx3. I had an issue where the pump action/handle got loose and i had to send it back 3 times.. Loved it but lost confidence in it due to the handle going lose.. I wouldn't change my sx3 for anything... Superb bit of kit
tomaddy525
Only reason I can see for getting a pump over a semi auto is price, otherwise why not get a semi when it does a pump's job for you? If I were you I'd be patient and look for a second hand browning or beretta synthetic semi auto. Only a matter of time until you find one that works faultlessly but isn't too nice cosmetically. This would be ideal for a workhorse of a gun and would be fairly cheap
WelshMike
SXP is a great value gun and one you dont cry over when you scratch it. I struggled to start off with as I have long arms so I fitted an ATI tactical stock (not sure I like the tactical look but it suits me and I can shoot ok with it). I have put 3000 or so shots through it with no problems.
